A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust

Chapter 497

"It was all their idea!" Gabriel stared at Silas, desperately trying to convince the man in front of him to let him off the hook.

The last thing he wanted was to get in trouble because of those two fools, Gideon and Fleur. Right now, he wished he had never met them; they were nothing but trouble.

Silas glanced at Gabriel, his expression unreadable. "So what you're saying is, if you didn't know who she was, you would've gone after her anyway?"

Gabriel's face went pale.

"No! I mean, I was duped by them! I only went after Ms. Jewell because I believed what they told me," he stammered, his voice shaky. "Mr. Myers, I made a mistake. I was misled by them."

Gabriel's eyes darted around, betraying his panic. When they messed with Calliope, he had assumed she would be too afraid to let Silas know. They never imagined Calliope was so resourceful or that Silas would arrive so quickly.

"Gabriel, you spineless coward!" Fleur snapped angrily. "You claimed you could help us, and now you're backing out? You were the one giving advice too. Don't act like you're innocent now!"

Gabriel shot Fleur a venomous look. "If I don't distance myself from you, I'm a dead man. You guys crossed the wrong person-Mr. Myers! Once upon a time, Mr. Myers had high hopes for Gideon, but Gideon blew his chance, not my fault!" Silas turned his icy gaze to Fleur. "Was it you who came up with the plan?"

His eyes were cold, filled with a simmering anger. He couldn't tolerate anyone harboring such harmful intentions toward his Callie, and he certainly couldn't forgive anyone who tried to hurt her.

Fleur shivered under Silas's piercing stare. She gulped but tried to stand her ground, her voice defiant. "Silas I'm your sis-in-law! I don't believe you'd dare do anything to me.

Besides, your wife's fine 3 leven

right? Just

let us go!"

"Gideon's already been punished. Take him to the hospital! If Eamon finds out, noveldrama

he'll be upset. Do you really want to put him through that?"

Fleur's eyes were cold as she tried to issue a warning to Silas.

Silas looked at her calmly. "You're overthinking. Eamon will be on my side. And don't think saying you're my sis-in-law will protect you. Even if you were the King, I wouldn't be afraid of you! Why wouldn't do something to you? Whatever you planned for Callie, I'll do the same to you!"

Fleur's face twisted with anger. "She wasn't hurt in the end, was she? Nothing happened!"

Her voice was huffy, showing no sign of remorse.

Calliope watched Fleur with a serene expression.

Gideon, on the other hand, was in a

mess. He was the most battered

unable to move because of his

broken leg. He shouted, frustrated,

"Uncle Silas, we were wrong, but nothing happened in the end, right?"

"Don't hurt my mom! I came up with the plan! Blame me!"

"Calliope, after all we've been through, are you really going to leave us hanging?"
