Chapter 1502 Stealing Wine
But Sadie couldn't shake off the unease in her heart.
Everything that happened today was so strange and mysterious, she had a nagging feeling that something big was about to happen.
"What's on your mind?"
Micah cupped Sadie's face and leaned in again, trying to kiss her.
"Nothing." Sadie dodged him again. "You should rest; we'll be home soon."
For some reason, Sadie's body instinctively resisted getting close to him.
Although, from a rational perspective, there didn't seem to be anything wrong with him, Sadie's intuition told her something was off.
Micah used to be somewhat indiscriminate about showing affection, but that was only in front of his people.
He was always careful around her female bodyguards.
But today, he seemed eager to get close to her, his hand constantly rubbing her arm, itching to make contact.
"Alright." Micah didn't say anything more, leaning back in his seat and closing his eyes
to rest.
Sadie watched him closely.
This face, this build, this demeanor and aura-it was undoubtedly Micah. So why did she feel so uneasy?
What exactly was wrong? She couldn't put her finger on it.
Sadie's
gaze moved from Micah's face down to his waist.
If she wanted to confirm whether he was really Micah, she just needed to check the Laîttern his warsc
When they got home, a group of people gathered around.
Rebecca looked at Micah, tears streaming down her face. "Mr. Clemens, you're finally back. I knew you would come back."
"Thanks for worrying, Rebecca." Micah smiled slightly.
"Mr. Clemens, you must be tired. Please go rest in your room."
Silas looked at Micah's exhausted and weak state, feeling deeply concerned.
"Alright, Silas."
Micah responded, forcing himself to stand up.
Rylan immediately went to support him.
"Where's Sadie?"

Micah glanced around the room. After getting out of the car, she had disappeared.
"Mrs. Clemens is taking care of some things," Rylan said. "The kids happened to be out today, but they'll be back soon. There are also some matters at the company she needs to handle."
"Okay." Micah nodded and headed upstairs.
Rylan helped him to his room and poured him a glass of warm water.noveldrama
Micah frowned. "Get me a glass of chilled wine."
"Mr. Clemens, given your health, you can't drink alcohol," Rylan advised.
Micah was displeased, glaring at him.
"You really can't drink," Rylan insisted, more stubborn than Andrew. "Bear with it for now. Once you're better, I'll drink with you."
"What's wrong with my health?" Micah suddenly asked.
"The toxins in your body haven't been cleared. The situation is dire, and it's affecting your bones. Have you forgotten?" Rylan was anxious.
"After the fire, you got injured, and your wounds haven't healed yet. How can you drink?"
"Alright, I get it." Micah was a bit impatient. "Leave."

"Please rest well. I'll be outside. Just call if you need anything."
Rylan bowed and left.
As soon as the door closed, Micah got up and poured himself a glass of chilled wine, leaning back on the sofa and sipping it slowly.
He stared at the glass of water on the coffee table, squinting slightly, deep in thought. "Micah."
At that moment, Sadie pushed the door open and came in.
Micah quickly put down the wine glass and reached for the water, but Sadie noticed. "Are you sneaking a drink again?"
The word "again" was particularly emphasized.
Micah used to do this often, sneaking drinks even when his health was at its worst.
Sadie knew he wasn't an alcoholic; he just drank to blur his consciousness and escape his troubles.
"I, I just..."
"No more next time." Sadie frowned, sternly reminding him. "Given your current health, you can't drink."
What do you think?
