Chapter 1275: 1274 Apologies
Chapter 1275: 1274 Apologies
Bai Yiyi finished her call with Wen Ran, and within less than ten minutes, the doorbell rang.
She walked out of the living room with Tongtong and saw Qing Yang waiting outside the villa.
“Miss Bai, Miss Wen asked me to come here,” he said.
Qing Yang was more steady and reserved than Qing Feng, speaking sparingly and cherishing his words like gold when dealing with people he was unfamiliar with.
A gentle smile appeared on Bai Yiyi’s face: “Thank you, Qing Yang.”
“It’s my duty,” Qing Yang replied, then turned and walked to the car to open the door for Bai Yiyi and Tongtong, inviting them to get in.
Once in the car, Bai Yiyi asked again, “Did Ranran take Momo to the hospital?”
“By the time I left, Miss Wen and Young Master Mo had already set off,” Qing Yang answered.
Bai Yiyi uttered an “Oh,” and Qing Yang added, “Miss Wen said if Miss Bai does not want to see Doctor Gu, there’s no need to go to the hospital. She will call Miss Bai later. Where should we head to now, Miss Bai?”
“Let’s go to the zoo.”

Kangning Hospital
When Gu Kai arrived at the hospital, Wei Jingshan was waiting at the entrance of her office.
Seeing her, a hint of disgust flashed in Gu Kai’s eyes, and his expression instantly turned cold.
Wei Jingshan pursed her lips tentatively and watched as Gu Kai approached, timidly calling out: “Doctor Gu.”
Gu Kai pushed open the office door but did not enter; instead, he turned to Wei Jingshan and said, “Didn’t Director Gu tell you? I am not supervising interns anymore. You should go to Qiu Wei.”
A hint of sadness flickered in Wei Jingshan’s eyes. She bowed deeply to Gu Kai and apologized sincerely, “Doctor Gu, I’m sorry. I know I made a mistake, and I know you won’t forgive me. But I genuinely didn’t cause Wang Fuyi to portray Miss Bai as the third party.”
Upon hearing this, Gu Kai’s gaze suddenly turned icy, “Wei Jingshan, stop explaining things here. You know what you intended.”
Wang Fuyi is a journalist, and journalists are those who can spin thousands of words out of a single sentence.
Wei Jingshan gave Wang Fuyi more than just a sentence; she didn’t have to say it directly, a mere hint was enough for Wang Fuyi to concoct a whole article.
Wei Jingshan’s face turned pale, and her eyes reddened with grievance, “Doctor Gu, I like you, but you shouldn’t assume that it’s my intention to harm Miss Bai just because of that…”
“I don’t want to hear any more explanations from you, and you don’t need to explain to me. Apologize. Director Gu gave you a chance to stay here; you should immediately go find your mentor.”
Gu Kai harshly interrupted Wei Jingshan, entered his office, and slammed the door loudly.
Wei Jingshan stood outside the door, gazing at the firmly shut door, lowered her eyes dejectedly, and then turned to leave.
The phone rang, Gu Kai walked behind his desk, took it out and answered, “Hello, Xiuchen.”
“Is the pediatric department crowded?”
On the phone, Mo Xiuchen’s deep voice came through, and Gu Kai furrowed his brows, asking concernedly, “What’s wrong?”
“Momo has a high fever; Ranran and I are on our way to the hospital with her,” Mo Xiuchen explained, his voice mingled with the sound of the car.
Worry immediately appeared on Gu Kai’s face, “Why the sudden fever? Did she catch a cold? What about Xin Xin and Ziyi?”
“They are at home. Ranran said they might catch the fever from Momo, so she didn’t bring them along,” Mo Xiuchen explained over the phone.
“Is it just a fever for Momo, or are there other symptoms like coughing, a runny nose? Never mind, how long before you get here? I’ll wait for you in pediatrics.”
Explaining over the phone wasn’t clear enough; recently, viral colds have been quite rampant.
“Hmm, we’ll be there in no more than ten minutes.”
“Alright, I’ll head to pediatrics now, you guys can meet me there directly,” said Gu Kai as he stood up, walked around the desk, quickly advanced to the door, opened it, and left.

Bai Yiyi did not expect to stumble upon Zhang Siming at the zoo.
He was with a boy about ten years old, just as Bai Yiyi was watching peacocks with Tongtong, a joyous voice sounded from behind.
Tongtong, clapping her hands in enjoyment, did not hear someone calling her mother’s name.
Bai Yiyi turned around, saw Zhang Siming standing there, was slightly surprised and saw Zhang Siming grinning and saying, “Yiyi, what a coincidence, you’re here at the zoo with Tongtong.”
“Yes, quite the coincidence.”
The last time at Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion, this man confessed his feelings for her, and was seen by Gu Kai. Now running into him again, Bai Yiyi did not feel the joy that Zhang Siming felt; rather, she thought if she had known they would run into each other here, she would not have brought Tongtong to the zoo.
Zhang Siming was genuinely thrilled, although his last confession was rejected, it seemed not to affect his joy of seeing Bai Yiyi at all.
“Who is this?”
Zhang Siming saw Qing Yang glance at him, lifted Tongtong in his arms, and couldn’t help but wonder.
Bai Yiyi turned her head to look at Qing Yang and explained lightly, “This is Qing Yang.”
“Is Qing a surname?”
The doubt in Zhang Siming’s brows deepened, and beside him, Qing Yang gave him a strange look, “It’s not a surname, it’s a given name.”
“Oh, sorry, I’m Zhang Siming, Yiyi’s friend, are you also Yiyi’s friend?”
“Yes, he’s also my friend, Qing Yang, let’s take Tongtong over there,” Bai Yiyi pointed towards a place crowded with people.
“Yiyi, since we’ve met, it’s fate, let’s walk around together, I’ll treat you all to lunch,” Zhang Siming was not only fond of Bai Yiyi but also curious.
Each time he met her, the men by her side were different.
That time at Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory, Wen Jin protected her, and the way he looked at her didn’t seem like a superior to a subordinate. Later, his uncle told him that Wen Jin and Bai Yiyi might have a special relationship.
Last time at Yi Pin Xuan, he asked her if Tongtong’s father was Wen Jin, but later, Bai Yiyi was pulled away by Gu Kai. Yesterday, Gu Kai told the media reporters that Tongtong was his and Bai Yiyi’s daughter.
Zhang Siming was happy that although Tongtong was Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi’s daughter, there were grievances between the older generations, and now there was no relationship between them.
But today, she was accompanied by another man.
“No, we have other things to handle later,” his thoughts were interrupted by Bai Yiyi’s cool voice. After speaking, she and Qing Yang left together.
“…”
Zhang Siming wanted to persist, but the little boy by his side tugged at his clothes. He opened his mouth but did not call out.
“Miss Bai, that Mr. Zhang just now, is he really your friend?”
A few steps out, Qing Yang looked back at Zhang Siming, who was still staring in their direction in a daze. He blinked, curiously asking.
“No, we just know each other,”
Bai Yiyi shook her head, she and Zhang Siming couldn’t really be considered friends.
Qing Yang acknowledged with a sound, as Bai Yiyi reached out, “Let me hold Tongtong.”
“Uncle will hold.”
The little one, Tongtong, actually wouldn’t let Bai Yiyi hold her, clinging to Qing Yang’s neck instead, Qing Yang laughed, “I’ll hold Tongtong, from up here, Tongtong can see farther.”
