Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1767

"Wow, just this one invitation card cost a thousand dollars, and that's not even counting the labor costs. The gold leafing on it isn't cheap either. If we tried to sell it, we could easily get two or three thousand for it," Amy explained.

Fiona's eyes narrowed a bit as she looked at her phone, casually asking, "Really? It's that expensive?"

As soon as Amy said those words, some things seemed to click into place for Fiona.

"What's going on?" Amy asked in a haze, leaning against the bed. "Josie had me get this design from the Gregory family. To make some extra money off her, I told my dad to quote an insanely high price. Only an idiot wouldn't cash in!"

Fiona put her phone down, stood up for a change, and reached out to pat Amy's head, her doubts fading away.

Amy looked up, curious, then suddenly had a lightbulb moment. She pointed at Fiona, eyes wide. "You don't think I'm in cahoots with Josie, do you? I was wondering why you looked so weird."

Fiona didn't say a word, just watched her quietly, like a tigress ready to pounce.

"Fiona! I'm so disappointed! How could you question my sincerity? Do I need to cut open my heart to prove it to you?"

Amy pouted, huffed, and turned over on her bed.

"Our friendship means nothing to you? I'm more genuine than pearls with you, and over a silly invite, you doubt me! I'm so ticked off." Amy lay there, chattering away, sneaking glances at Fiona now and then.

Seeing Fiona by the window, chuckling, only made her more annoyed. How could Fiona be so carefree when she felt so wound up?

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She jumped up, tore the invitation into shreds, and tossed it in the trash.

"It's all because of this stupid invite. I'm so mad!!!" She turned to Fiona, fuming, "Is that enough for you? Can you stop giving me that look?"

"I was just curious, not doubting you," Fiona giggled.

Amy's dramatic gesture didn't

completely put Fiona's mind at ease. one line Amy dropped earlier

seemed a bit too slick, not just an offhand comment. fo

The more Fiona thought about it, the deeper her suspicions grew.

"Curiosity doesn't mean you have to look at me like I'm trying to get close to you on purpose. Although, to bez honest, did approach you intentionally at first, but only

because I wasn't sure about your status. Who wouldn't want a friend with a top scholar title? It's something to brag about." noveldrama

Fiona just smiled, not taking it too seriously.

As she turned to head back to her bed, she accidentally bumped into Jane, who was carrying a cup of iced coffee. Jane stumbled, and the drink splashed all over her face, ice hitting her with sharp, cold jotts, making her nearly lose it!

"Fiona, are you okay?" Amy quickly got up and pulled Fiona to sit with her.

Just as she was about to give the disheveled Jane a piece of her mind, she saw

how miserable Jane looked and found herself speechless.

Even though Jane was at fault, she looked utterly pitiful. Amy swallowed her words, thought for a moment, and then reached out to help Jane up.
