Chapter 1793
The thought of those flesh-eating worms crawling under her skin every day nearly drove her mad. Now that they were finally going to be removed from her body, she swore she'd never endure such terror again.
Josie looked at Fiona with pleading eyes, regretting her past defiance and the decision to use her own flesh and blood to nurture the worms.
"Staring at me won't help. No one in the Larkin family has bothered to speak up for you," Fiona said with a cold sarcasm, clearly enjoying the drama playing out.
Especially since Josie was the one who had fallen out with the Larkin family.
"Grandpa, save me, I don't want to die," Josie pleaded, casting a desperate glance at Albert. But her outstretched hand was met with a cold stare that made her withdraw immediately.
She knew Albert wouldn't save her, but the fear of death was suffocating.
"Grandpa, how can you be so heartless?"
A fierce hatred and resentment burned in Josie's eyes. Once, when she escaped the Capital and was beaten nearly to death by the Larkin family's men, it was Albert who had saved her. Now, facing death seemed like paying back that debt in full.
Josie closed her eyes, ready to accept her fate at Fiona's hands. But the expected pain never came. Confused, she opened her eyes and looked at Fiona.
In the next moment, Fiona poured the entire contents of a small porcelain bottle into Josie's mouth. She forcibly unhinged Josie's jaw, ensuring she couldn't close her mouth. These worms were Fiona's special creation, designed to make Josie's life a living hell.
Simply killing her wouldn't satisfy Fiona.
Josie's suffering was the only way to avenge Jasmine's death, a wound in Fiona's heart that would never heal.
Josie's death had to come at the hands of the Larkin family.
Fiona tossed the empty bottle aside and approached Albert with a playful glint in her eyes. "Grandpa Woods, do you think I'm being too harsh? After all, she's one of your Larkin family."
Albert's face was a mix of
displeasure, but instead of rebuking Fiona, he put on a kindly expression and replied with a chuckle, "If you do something wrong, you must face the consequences. Otherwise, where would order be?"
"Grandpa Woods is right," Fiona said as she settled onto a nearby sofa, watching Josie writhe and scream in agony on the floor.
Blood trickled from Josie's mouth, but the assembled guests merely watched, indifferent to her fate. Eventually, even Albert couldn't bear it. He waved his hand in resignation, turning to leave.
"Grandpa Woods, let me arrange for
Ms. Aisha to be sent back to the Larkin family," Fiona offered, waiting for Albert to leave. How else could Josie's virus spread to the entire Larkin family?
Jasmine's death wasn't just about Josie; Fiona wanted the entire Larkin family to pay.
If the Larkin family dared to create such a dreadful new life form, they should be the first to experience its effects.
"No need. If she's almost dead, then throw her in the graveyard," Albert said through gritted teeth.
"Grandpa Woods, the elders always

say that in death, one should return to their roots. What would it look like if Ms. Aisha died in the Woods family? Even if she must die, it should be in the Larkin family Besides, why trouble Mr. Woods with such matters when he's already so old?"
Grandpa Woods old? Does he think I don't look my age?
Albert trembled with anger, his gaze fixed on Fiona. "Do as you wish," he said coldly.
What do you think?
