Game Over No Second Chances

With Melissa steering the conversation, everyone's gaze shifted to Serena.

Serena was momentarily at a loss for words. What did any of this have to do with her?

As the room fell into silence, Sarah gently tugged at Rachel's sleeve, her eyes full of pleading. She could only rely on Rachel since things had already gotten to this point.

Rachel resented Sarah for disgracing both her and Howard. However, there was no turning back now since Cole and Sarah had slept together.

Gritting her teeth, she forced out a few tears and grabbed Howard's arm.

She started crying loudly and said, "Please, don't make things harder for Serena. This is all Sarah's fault... She never should've met with Cole or gotten involved with the Larsons. She ruined her own reputation. From now on, Sarah will never marry. I'll take care of her for the rest of her life!"

Serena and Melissa frowned at the same time, the same though flashing through their minds.

Rachel was playing the sympathy card.

Howard immediately panicked when he heard that Sarah would never marry.

"How can a young girl never marry? Besides, she and Cole got involved willingly. Why couldn't they be together? If Serena can marry into the Larson family, why can't Sarah?"

As he spoke, realization slowly dawned on him.

If Sarah and Cole ended up together, then one of his daughters would marry the current head of Larson Group, and the other would marry the future successor.

The Jansen family's future would be limitless!

Thinking this, he threw in another harsh accusation.

"Or is it that your mighty Larson family just wants to shirk responsibility? Are you

just going to sit back and watch Sarah take her own life out of shame?"

The word 'take her own life' made Melissa's pupils shrank. She hated being threatened.

Pointing at Howard's noce, she snapped, "So what if she does? It's not like my son forced her! If she couldn't handle the shame, she should've stayed off his bed in the first place!"noveldrama

"How do you know it was Sarah who seduced him? Everyone could see just how much Cole loved Sarah!" Howard shot back.

He didn't care about his reputation anymore. He just wanted Sarah to marry into the Larson family.

Melissa was stunned.

"You're shameless!"

"Shameless? Compared to Sarah's reputation and her life, what is shame even worth?"

Howard turned and wrapped his arms around Sarah, wailing loudly.

He stared at Serena and said, "Nina, are you going to stand by and watch Sarah die? Don't forget that you're still a Jansen!"

Melissa nearly fainted from rage.

"You guys from the Jansen familet

are unbelievable! How dare you gang up on my son to trick him into marrying your daughter!"

"I'm not them." Serena finally couldn't take it anymore.

One side was desperate to wash their hands clean, pretending their son had done nothing wrong. The other side was ready to sacrifice all dignity just to marry their daughter into the Larson family.

Standing between the two families, Serena turned and looked straight at Calvin.

"Grandpa, what do you think should be done about this?"

The room fell dead silent. Everyone had completely forgotten Calvin was still there.

His face was as dark as thunder as he listened to their argument.

He valued loyalty and family above all else after a lifetime of dominating the business world and raising countless children and grandchildren.

Now, watching Melissa and Howard fighting only for their own interests and completely disregarding their children's reputations, he was filled with disgust.

At this point, he was displeased not only with Melissa, but also with Howard, his would-be-in-law.

It was Serena's respectful question that finally allowed him to exhale slowly, regaining some composure.

"Serena, how do you think we should handle this?"

"If they work out, then great. If not, then so be it."

Serena's reply was clear and sharp.
