Chapter 1316
Then there was a prodigy hacker, who, at just 13, had crashed machines and made groundbreaking contributions to science. His hacking skills had spawned countless legends 30 years ago.
The last one was an ultra-intelligent physicist, who had been received by presidents of various nations. By the age of 30, he had begun developing nuclear weapons, earning countless domestic and international accolades.
Each of these individuals commanded an aura of immense power.
From the second floor, Erica and Garland spotted Debra appearing at the entrance. They hurried down, but even Erica, who was usually fearless, slowed her steps, careful not to make any noise that might disturb the formidable figures below.
She reached Debra's side and whispered, "How did you get back so quickly? Marion and the others aren't back yet."noveldrama
Garland raised his hand. "I told her to hurry back."
Erica was speechless.
These people were no ordinary opponents. Debra might not be able to handle them on her own. They needed to get Marion and Randy back as soon as possible.
Freddy tapped his cane on the floor. The crisp sound echoed through the hall, and everyone immediately turned their attention to him.
Erica and Garland straightened up, wary of causing any disturbance.
"Mrs. Houston," Freddy began, "the Potter family's seal is of great importance to us. Please return it."
Freddy was 70, but his eyes were sharp and clear. Every movement he made exuded a restrained calm, and his words carried an authority that was hard to defy. fo
"Sir, it's not that I don't want to return it," Debra replied. "I can't."
Her words caused a ripple of discontent among the crowd. The slight frowns that appeared on their faces were enough to make Erica's heart tighten.
The tension in the room grew even thicker. Garland felt like he could barely breathe. The pressure was unlike anything he had ever experienced.
"Mrs. Houston," another elder spoke. "The seal belongs to the Potter family. If you don't return it, don't blame us for being disrespectful."
An elder sitting beside Freddy chimed in, "No need to waste breaths. Let's take it by force."
The bodyguards standing behind them stepped forward in unison. Iwan, who had been standing off to the side, rushed in front of her.
Debra frowned. "You're not needed here. Leave."
"I can't let them hurt you, Mrs. Houston," Iwan said earnestly.
Erica found the gesture almost ridiculous. What is he trying to prove at a moment like this? Can't he see the situation? The bodyguards aren't ordinary. They are elites trained by the Rotter family. Any one of them can knock him out with a single punch.'
Before Iwan could react, Debra hit him in the neck and knocked him out.
What do you think?
