Chapter 224: Chapter 224: Xiao Jinsheng, I am looking for you
Thirty Zerg warships hovered alongside the spaceship above the Demon Territory.
Down below, the Little Demons were the first to go on alert.
Brandishing two-meter-long scythes, they looked ready to cut down the objects floating in the sky.
It was Caicai who stepped forward to stop them: "That’s my Host. They’re allies. Everyone, put your weapons away."
Just as Lou Yan Zhi descended on his sword, a leeks-shaped figure interrogated him sharply, "Making such a big commotion—are you trying to ascend to heaven?"
He calmly sheathed his sword and said, "There’s no reason to visit empty-handed."
"I brought some interstellar specialties." Lou Yan Zhi’s eyes scanned the crowd, noting the number of people present.
But there was no sign of Xiao Jinsheng.
"Interstellar specialties?" Caicai tilted its head, eyes locked on the warships overhead now on autopilot. "You raided the Zerg, didn’t you?"
"Raided?" The Cannibal Flower seemed to switch on like it had heard a trigger word and sprang over excitedly.
Its tendrils stretched out, attempting to snatch the heavy sword beside Lou Yan Zhi: "If it’s stolen, it’s mine. Hand it over!"
Lou Yan Zhi pressed firmly on the sword hilt, refusing to let go.
The Cannibal Flower couldn’t wrest it away, so its vine lashed out, aiming straight for Lou Yan Zhi’s face.
Lou Yan Zhi dodged swiftly and tossed the heavy sword in the Cannibal Flower’s direction: "If you dare to take my stuff, you better live to use it!"
Like some kind of bandit.
Hugging the sword tightly, the Cannibal Flower fixed Caicai with a wary stare.
Caicai rolled its leek-white eyes: "I don’t even want it."
Last time, it had tried to snatch a sword at the Star Stone Mine, thinking it could use it to help Xiao Jinsheng dig out Star Stones.
Who knew Xiao Jinsheng would be so capable?
She had single-handedly emptied out the entire Star Stone Mine in an instant.
Xiao Jinsheng was still in the Star Stone Mine within the Realm, enhancing her superpowers.
Even without Xiao Jinsheng, a few Beast Husbands would be enough to handle things.
Regarding Lou Yan Zhi’s arrival, they followed Caicai’s initial advice.
Cordial but distant, without overstepping boundaries.
Whether normally chatty or reserved, everyone suddenly found mutual taciturnity at this moment.
Lou Yan Zhi walked alongside Caicai but didn’t initiate conversation either.
His gaze swept over the crowd, particularly the Beastmen, his eyes glimmering faintly.
Dragon Sparrow, Bai Ze, Chaos, Silver Dragon, Nine-tailed.
He had said before that compared to the sci-fi Interstellar World, Mist Continent aligned more closely with the Cultivation World he hailed from.
Even in the Cultivation World, Divine Beasts and Fierce Beasts were rare.
Yet here, there were plenty.
"Xiao Jinsheng isn’t here?" Lou Yan Zhi asked as he took a seat in the reception hall.
At these words, all eyes in the room shifted to him.
Little Demons peered curiously from the walls, clustering in threes and fives, muttering in whispers.
"Why are you looking for her?" Caicai asked warily.
"The purpose of my visit is her," Lou Yan Zhi said bluntly.
Chen Yunji’s silver pupils glinted coldly, but Xuan Jiu nudged him with an elbow: "Here’s someone who speaks even more slap-worthy words than you."
"The Female Master is still resting. If Mr. Lou has any inquiries, you can tell us first," Que Zelian offered with a friendly smile.
"Can you make decisions on her behalf?" Lou Yan Zhi countered confidently.
He turned and sat back on the sofa, smiling at everyone. "I’m in no rush. I can wait for her. After all, I’ve already waited so many years."
"Waited so many years?" Li homed in on the key point.
The crowd instantly thought of Xiao Jinsheng’s fragmented memories.
Especially the initial five Beast Husbands, who recalled how Li had appeared under similar circumstances. Their gazes toward Lou Yan Zhi shifted dramatically.
"You’ve known each other before?" Shi Xie frowned.
"And if I have? And if I haven’t?" Lou Yan Zhi retorted.
The crowd felt an inexplicable surge of anger.
But Lou Yan Zhi was a guest.
His demeanor wasn’t as arrogant as Li’s had been when he first showed up.
He said he’d wait for Xiao Jinsheng, and he genuinely sat there patiently, waiting.
Still, the way Lou Yan Zhi spoke always left people feeling... strange.
Uncomfortable.
The Beast Husbands had endless questions in their minds, but it wasn’t appropriate to interrogate Lou Yan Zhi directly.
They could only wait for Xiao Jinsheng to return from the Realm and ask how much she knew about Lou Yan Zhi.
Xuan Jiu stood in a corner, crumpled a ball of paper, and lobbed it at the ghostly silent Caicai standing behind Lou Yan Zhi.
Caicai glared back, only to see Xuan Jiu beckoning: "Leek, come over here."
Caicai flipped its sprouty top disdainfully and huffed, "Address me properly as Lord Caicai."
"Lord Caicai, come here." Ever adaptable, Xuan Jiu came second to none.
Caicai, curious about what Xuan Jiu wanted yet unwilling to let its guard down around Lou Yan Zhi, hesitated.
Its gaze shifted between Xuan Jiu and Lou Yan Zhi.
After calculating the distance, it determined that even if it moved to Xuan Jiu’s location, it would still be close enough to monitor Lou Yan Zhi. Thus, it scurried over.
"What does His Lordship require?" Caicai demanded in an imperious tone.
"Your Host—what’s his strength level?" Xuan Jiu asked with a nudge.
"Twenty Stars," Caicai replied, eyeing Lou Yan Zhi, whose Mist Continent’s defense mechanisms had reduced his superpower level to Fifteen Stars.
Xuan Jiu didn’t doubt the information from Caicai’s mouth.
Still, his heart grew heavy.
This Host of Caicai claimed to be here for Xiao Jinsheng.
Xuan Jiu’s fox ears drooped as a headache set in.
Whatever Lou Yan Zhi’s intentions, he would not be easy to deal with.
Su Ye quietly left the reception hall, slipping away into the Realm to avoid the crowd.
He arrived at the Star Stone Mine, saw Xiao Jinsheng still lying there, confirmed she was unharmed and absorbing Star Stone Energy, and turned to leave.
Just as he was about to descend the mountain, a Star Stone flew toward the back of his head.
Su Ye raised a hand, caught the stone, and turned to see Xiao Jinsheng sitting up, tossing another Star Stone in her hand with a playful grin.
"You’ve been faking it?" Su Ye raised a brow slightly.
"I was testing your reflexes," Xiao Jinsheng retorted.
"A disciple testing her master?" Su Ye’s long strides brought him over, pulling Xiao Jinsheng up from the ground.
"Yeah, why not?" Xiao Jinsheng replied with a cocky tone.
Su Ye held her wrist, smirking as he nodded. "Of course, you can."
"Did you come to tell me it’s mealtime?" Xiao Jinsheng asked curiously.
She hadn’t sensed anyone else within the Realm.
Just now, as she absorbed Star Stone Energy, she had been chasing an inexplicable sensation she had encountered in the mine. noveldrama
The result, of course, was failure.
Not discouraged by failure, Xiao Jinsheng decided to shift her focus and mood, saving the attempt for another time.
"Not yet," Su Ye replied, adding, "Lou Yan Zhi has arrived."
"He said he’s looking for you, so I came in to check on you."
"Here so soon?" Xiao Jinsheng was surprised.
Then again, she thought of how Caicai always came and went without a trace.
Given that Lou Yan Zhi was Caicai’s bound Host, his swift arrival seemed reasonable.
"Well, let’s go check it out," Xiao Jinsheng said as she took Su Ye’s hand to leave the Realm.
She and Caicai were good friends.
And Lou Yan Zhi, being associated with Caicai and a guest from afar, made it necessary for Xiao Jinsheng, as head of the household, to make an appearance.
As soon as she stepped into the reception hall, Xiao Jinsheng immediately noticed the young man seated quietly on the sofa, his aura impossible to ignore.
The man, with his jet-black hair tied high, met her gaze with his brown eyes filled with a hint of amusement. He spoke first: "Xiao Jinsheng, I’ve been looking for you."
Hearing this, Xiao Jinsheng’s expression immediately stiffened.
That tone—why did it sound so strange?
"Caicai and the Cannibal Flower are doing quite well here," Xiao Jinsheng explained.
The only connection she could think of with Lou Yan Zhi was through Caicai and the Cannibal Flower.
"I’m not here for them," Lou Yan Zhi said as he stood up and walked toward Xiao Jinsheng. "The reason I’ve come to Mist Continent is you."
Startled, Xiao Jinsheng stepped back in alarm.
Then, she saw Lou Yan Zhi bend his knee, sliding forward on the ground until he knelt before her. Spreading his arms wide, he bowed his head to the floor and pleaded: "Save me, I’m begging you!"
What do you think?
