Never Again Yours (Isadora and Magnus)

Chapter 507

Eleanor stood up as well. "Isadora, you're due in just three months. Victor, make sure you take good care of her."

On the drive home, the sleek Ferrari glided smoothly through the city streets. Neon lights scattered across every block, painting the night in a dazzling, dreamlike glow.

Victor kept his eyes on the road, driving with an easy, relaxed posture.

Isadora couldn't help but break the silence. "What did you talk about with my mom?"

He glanced sideways at her, one hand on the wheel while the other reached over

to gently rest on her belly. "She told me not to bully you."

"Really?" Isadora sounded unconvinced.

She knew full well that Eleanor had accepted the twenty percent stake in the Fitzgerald Group Victor had given her, and she hadn't even hesitated to take the two hundred and eighty-eight million dollar dowry on top of it.

Even if she understood her mother was only looking out for her future, Isadora couldn't help feeling a little resentful.

Victor arched an eyebrow. "What's wrong? Are you upset?"

Her tone was muffled, almost sulky. "Twenty percent of the Fitzgerald Group is already more than enough."

Especially considering she hadn't contributed anything to the company herself.

Victor's lips curled into a slight smile and he let out a low chuckle. "Are you worried for me, Mrs. Fitzgerald?"

She shot him a look at his teasing, brushed his hand aside, and turned to gaze out the window.

"I just think marriage should be about two people choosing each other for love- not about squeezing every bit of security out of the other person."

Victor didn't seem concerned about the money at all. His voice was casual. "Your mom just wants what's best for you."

Of course, he didn't mention what Eleanor had actually asked of him back in the living room.

She'd said, "There's a real gap between the Fitzgeralds and the Vaughans. So for Isadora and the child's future, what else can you promise me?"

Victor had paused, considering. "I'll transfer every property I own into Isadora's name."

Eleanor had been taken aback, clearly not expecting him to go that far.

For the wealthiest man in Capitolion, his portfolio was more than just a few mansions. It meant countless estates across the globe, private islands priceless antiques, rare treasures-assets so vast and scattered even a marriage certificate couldn't account for them.

In that moment, Eleanor was finally convinced this man truly loved her daughter.

"Victor, I hope you'll understand a

mother's worries for her child. The

'Mrs. Fitzgerald' title puts a lot of pressure on our family. I'm just afraid that one day, if you two divorce..."

Victor had gently cut her off. "I understand your concerns. This is just something

I'm choosing to do, so please, don't tell Isadora about it."

Now, in the car, Isadora nudged Victor's solid arm. "Well, I'm telling her about the dowry anyway. Don't worry about it."

Victor's eyes glimmered with

amusement, but when he spoke, his voice was deep and sincere. "Isadora, you have to believe me-you're the rose that's bloomed in the barren soil of my life. You're the reason my heart chose forever. If money could buy a future with you, I'd create all the wealth in the world just to keep you."

For a moment, the city lights flickered in Isadora's eyes, and her words caught innoveldrama

her throat. She finally whispered, "You really are a fool."
