No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Noelle smirked coldly. "I do. You'll find out when I'm discharged."

"Why are you keeping a secret at such an important period? Can't you just tell us about it?"

"Tell you? I told you about how I got hurt this time. What happened? I don't trust you all!"

Lucas was struck by this. "But you trust Frank, right?"noveldrama

"To me, you're all the same."

Lucas changed the topic and said, "Noelle, Frank's health is suffering. His gastrointestinal problems have gotten worse. The doctors said that this was caused by his low spirits. Go see him."

Noelle said calmly, "Last night, I dreamt of the accident with Mom and Dad."

Lucas was taken aback. "What did you recall?"

"Nothing much, just some fragments, and the sound of them calling for me. Ever since they passed, you have all been blaming me for it. If I hadn't demanded cake for my birthday, this wouldn't have happened."

She held the same beliefs in the past life, which was why she always tried to appease her brothers.

Lucas sighed and said, "That was all said in the heat of the moment. It's not your fault. It was an accident."

"Indeed. Now, I think so too because they kept telling me to run in my dream."

Noelle wiped at her tears and said, "Whenever you see me, you think of our parents passing away. Me too. Let's keep our distance from each other. Being strangers is a nice change. Contact me sparsely and only if necessary."

She hung up.

Noelle had always known they harbored a grudge against her. Even though they didn't bring it up, that didn't mean it never existed.

After Lucas hung up, he felt a bout of unexplained sadness. Although he said it was an accident, he subconsciously blamed Noelle for it. It was all her fault for wanting to go out for cake. That was why their parents got into the fatal accident!

That day, all of them lost their parents.

"Lucas, did Noelle say what evidence she had?"

Although Frank was pale, his eyes glimmered with excitement.

Lucas held on to his phone and looked down silently.

Frank understood. He looked away and swiped at the tears at the corner of his eye. "Do you think Noelle will forgive me if I sacrifice my life for her?"

If only he could take a pill to turn back time!

Frank turned serious as he said, "Frank, send people out to look into Xenia. This time, Noelle needs to be protected."

Since Donovan didn't believe them, they'd find evidence and make him listen! Xenia couldn't be kept around.

After hanging up, Noelle recalled Frank's expression in the cafe. It was one of anger and surprise.

She smirked. Xenia would probably point fingers at Frank for his lack of evidence. With that temper of his, Donovan probably wouldn't believe Frank. It was a pity she couldn't witness it firsthand. What goes around comes around.

However, she wouldn't let things blow over just like that. Since Donovan wanted to protect Xenia, who was the perpetrator, while harming Maple Enterprise to monopolize the Al industry, Noelle wouldn't let him get his way.

In the morning, the doctor came to check out on her and said she could be discharged.

After changing, Noelle immediately went to see Cedric and saw him sitting up and eating.

"How are you doing today?"

"I'll be discharged from the ICU later today."

Cedric's family had been spooked by his accident, especially Emma.

Thankfully, he had Alfred. If not, Noelle would be in trouble.

Cedric put his fork down and said, "I called Alfred just now. The computer and the

hard drive are gone. Crucial evidence has been lost."
