No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 357

The room fell into complete silence at Liam's words.

Xenia was left speechless, her face flushed and her ears burning. What? A lawyer this famous was actually Noelle's attorney?

Had she heard that right?

Xenia turned to Justin with her swollen face, her eyes full of confusion. "Didn't you say no one would dare take the case for Maple Enterprise?"

How was it possible that not only had someone taken the case, but it was a lawyer this renowned?

Justin was equally stunned. "Mr. Rodrick, did I hear that wrong? Didn't you stop taking small cases a long time ago?"

Liam responded calmly, "I took this case at someone's request."

That confirmed it-he was indeed Noelle's lawyer.

Xenia was still unwilling to accept it. "No way. Noelle doesn't know any powerful people in Yasnia. How could she possibly hire Liam?"

She turned to Donovan. "Donovan, say something!"

Donovan, still clutching his bruised arm, glared at Noelle. "That's right, Mr. Rodrick is her attorney."

Though he had to admit that Noelle had gotten a bit lucky.

At this point, Xenia gave up completely, and her face burned with pain. The things she had said earlier now seemed laughable.

Noelle stared at Xenia. "Pick up my documents."

Xenia, looking pitiful, said, "I didn't do it on purpose."

"Just because it wasn't on purpose doesn't mean you don't have to pick them up."

Caught off guard, Xenia lowered her head and turned to Donovan. "Donovan, I was just trying to help her."

"Noelle, look at what you've done to Xenia. This is a courtroom. Do you think you can just walk away without consequences?"

Donovan had been searching for a way to control Noelle, and now, she had handed him the perfect opportunity.

Liam remained calm. "Mr. Donovan, one must speak with evidence. My client was acting in self-defense, and it was Ms. Xenia who provoked the situation first."

Donovan was a bit surprised. He hadn't expected Liam to get involved in such trivial matters. He fell silent.

Xenia, feeling aggrieved, could only act pitifully in front of Justin. "It hurts so much."

Upon seeing her distressed face, Justin lost interest but didn't want to see Noelle gloating either.

He turned to Liam. "Mr. Rodrick, this is a separate issue. You're so busy, so it's probably better if you don't get involved."

"This is also part of my responsibility."

"How much did my cousin pay you to protect Noelle like this? Are they really involved?"

Justin's only assumption was that Alfred had a hand in this.

After all, Alfred was close to the heir of the Greene family, and the only person who could have gotten Liam to come and offer such support was someone from the Greene family.

Liam paused for a moment. The person who had asked him to take the case wasn't Alfred, but the heir of the Greene family.noveldrama

His gaze grew cold. "Mr. Justin, I suggest you be careful with your words, or you might attract unnecessary trouble."

Justin instantly fell silent when he recalled Alfred's warning.

Liam then turned to Xenia. "Ms. Quigley, you better pick up the documents.

Otherwise, we'll have no choice but to pursue this matter further."

Xenia instinctively looked at Justin, hoping he would intervene.

"Well, what can I do? It was clearly you who deliberately knocked the documents

out of Noelle's hands. Just pick them up."

Xenia stomped her foot. "Justin!"

This useless man.

She turned to Donovan, but he simply said, "Just pick them up. Do it for Mr. Rodrick's sake."

After all, Liam still has influence in Yasnia.
