Revenge is best served cold

Chapter 159 Just Love the Mistress

I looked coldly at Elsa as her emotions got the best of her while my heart

remained indifferent.

"So what?" I asked softly. "You think you can just keep hurting others to satisfy yourself?"

After speaking, I glanced at the door. "Still hiding?"

No sooner had I spoken than Jack's figure appeared outside the door.

I had already spotted him in the corner when he came in with the police earlier. He must have been worried about Elsa, which was why he stayed close. But he did it without her knowing to avoid adding more pressure on her.

I confirmed it when I saw Elsa hurriedly sending messages, panic evident in her actions.

At this moment, Jack's expression was conflicted, his gaze shifting between me and Elsa.

Elsa turned pale and immediately rushed to Jack, tears pouring from her eyes. "Jack, don't listen to her nonsense! It's not like that..."

I watched her indifferently. "At this point, you're still acting?"noveldrama

I turned to Jack. "By now, you must have figured out what kind of person she really is, right? Isn't it time for you to wake up?"

If Jack could detach himself from his feelings for Elsa, he wouldn't have gotten into that car accident, and things wouldn't have ended the way they did in my past life.

Our parents wouldn't have been so heartbroken, and the Brown family would've had a better chance of surviving.

Jack met my gaze, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes.

He lowered his head and glanced at the sobbing Elsa in his arms. "It's okay. Don't be afraid. I'll take you home."

At his words, both Elsa and I were stunned.

Elsa was the first to react. She leaned into Jack's embrace and nodded. "Jack, take me home."

As soon as the words left her lips, she shot me a provocative look.

Jack hummed in acknowledgment, supporting Elsa as he prepared to leave.

I furrowed my brows and stepped forward to block their path. "Hold on. Jack, did you leave your brain at home today? After all these years, haven't Mom and Dad taught you how to tell right from wrong? Are you really this willing to be used by her?"

Jack stopped and stood still, gazing at me silently. I could see a flash of pain in his

eyes. "How did I end up with such a malicious sister?"

In response to my confused look, he slowly said Elsa just wants a little bit of favoritism. What's so wrong with that? Even if she orchestrated that, you're still fine, right? Doesn't that mean it's really just an act?

"You've enjoyed so much love since we were little. Mom and Dad have always favored you. Aren't you satisfied yet?"

Elsa subtly let a tear fall after hearing this, her face twisted with pitiful innocence.

"Jane, I know you're angry with me. I was wrong today. I'm sorry. I just wanted to know if Jack really cared about me. Can you forgive me?"

My gaze shifted between Jack and Elsa, a sense of helplessness spreading through my chest.

I gave a bitter laugh. I should have known better. With someone as stubborn as

Jack, how could he possibly change his mind over something like this?

I stepped aside with a sigh, letting them pass.

These two people made me feel disgusted just by looking at them.

Elsa buried her head into Jack's arms, and from an angle he couldn't see, she shot me a provocative glance.

I turned away, not sparing them another glance.

What I didn't see was that just before they left, Jack had glanced at me with a look full of unspoken meaning.

It wasn't until the scent of Elsa's awful perfume faded completely that I made my

way downstairs and left the nightclub.

I would have to stay in the hospital

for the next few days to take care of Eric. I needed to drop by the studio to organize some documents and take them to the hospital.
