Chapter 161 Eric The Weakling
I was about to stop Eric from saying something provocative, but unfortunately, I was a moment too late.
A grin spread across Eric's face as he looked at Levi, his tone dripping with challenge. "When I went to rescue Jae, she didn't tell me she had been kidnapped. Some people just don't have the heart for it. Don't go thinking you're some hero who can save the damsel."
Levi immediately turned around, his voice sharp and aggressive. "Why didn't you break that mouth of yours when you fell from upstairs? Don't think you can use this as an excuse to play the martyr and have Jane look after you. You're the CEO of a listed company, so finding a nurse shouldn't be that hard, right?"
Eric ignored him and instead turned his gaze to me. "Jae, I'm hungry."
Hearing that, I immediately walked over and set the container of meatballs down on the bedside table before opening it up.
Before I could say anything, Eric looked at me with those pitiful eyes. "I can't eat by myself."
Levi quickly walked over, frowning. "Why can't you eat? Isn't your left hand injured? What's stopping you from eating?"
Eric shrugged innocently. "I'm left-handed."
Levi was immediately speechless and ground his teeth in frustration, not knowing how to respond.
Seeing me about to feed Eric, Levi quickly reached out and took the container from my hands. "Jane, I'll do it. I'll feed this guy."
He turned and faced Eric, both of them pausing for a moment. Clearly, neither of them was used to this kind of interaction. But Levi pushed forward, scooping a meatball and holding it up to Eric's mouth.
Eric glanced at me, then opened his mouth in sync with the gesture. The next second, he spat the meatball out. "It's too hot!"noveldrama
He looked at Levi. "Are you trying to burn me alive?"
Levi shrugged, unbothered. "Who told you not to blow on it before eating? What are you, a child? Why are you so delicate?"
Upon seeing this, I reached out to Levi. "Give it to me."
"Jane..." Levi hesitated, making no move.
I simply took the container of meatballs from him, blew on one to cool it down, and brought it to Eric's mouth.
Eric ate it with satisfaction, then raised an eyebrow at Levi, offering him a subtle challenge.
I said, "He got hurt while saving me. Of course, I'm going to stay here and take care of him until he's discharged. If I were saved and then just ignored my savior's well-being, would I still be human?"
Eric swallowed the meatball and turned his gaze to Levi, his voice cool and distant. "Some people should stop worrying about it. Even if you hire a nurse, Jae wouldn't be at ease."
He then looked at me with a soft smile in his eyes. "Right, Jae?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I wouldn't feel at ease until I see you healthy and discharged."
Levi blatantly scrutinized Eric as he let out a cold snort. "I just hope some people aren't up to no good."
Eric, still eating his meatballs, smirked. "Some people don't even get the chance, though. Guess it's easy to talk when you can't even come close, huh?"
"You!" Levi was fuming, his face reddening. "I'm out of here!"
He put the container of meatballs down, grabbed my arm, and started pulling me toward the door. He didn't stop until we were outside the ward.
"Jane, at this rate, he'll be stuck in the hospital for at least a month. You can't keep coming here every day. That won't do!"
Levi's concern warmed my heart,
and I gave him a reassuring look. "It's fine. Taking care of him here isn't as exhausting as you think. even managed to visit the studio yesterday. In the future, when t have free time, I might even work here While I keep him company."
After hearing that, Levi sighed deeply.
What do you think?
