Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 1305

Chapter 1305:

She knew exactly what kind of man Brook was, and she wasn’t about to indulge his act.

“I married Kellan, not the Lloyd family.”

The smile on Brook’s face vanished instantly. His eyes darkened as he turned to Kellan, his expression filled with barely concealed irritation.

“The Charisma Company is still rather small. Do you truly believe you can handle such a massive order on your own?”

His words were laced with veiled threats. Brook wanted to use the Lloyd Group’s shares as leverage. It was a way to entangle the company with the Dibya Group, ensuring the Lloyd family’s continued dominance in Ontdale.

But Kellan didn’t so much as flinch. He simply glanced down at his watch, his face impassive, as if he were waiting for something.

“The time is almost up.”

Kellan’s voice was calm—too calm—laced with an edge of quiet cruelty.

“Brook, I’d suggest you go home and prepare to return everything that belongs to me.”

“What are you talking about?” Brook’s brow furrowed.

A flicker of unease crossed his face as he heard what Kellan had said. Something felt off, though he couldn’t quite place what. Still, he refused to back down. He knew Kellan’s weakness. He had always used it to his advantage.noveldrama

“Have you forgotten? Your mother’s shares are in my hands. Or have you simply decided you don’t want them anymore?”

Kellan remained as composed as ever.

“That’s exactly why I said it’s time for you to return them.”

Brook’s unease deepened at the icy look in Kellan’s eyes.

Before he could dwell on it further, his phone rang. The sharp, urgent ringtone sliced through the air like an omen of disaster.

“What is it?” Brook snatched it up, irritation evident in his voice.

“Speak quickly!”

“Mr. Lloyd, something’s wrong—terribly wrong! The company is under investigation!” The panicked voice of his assistant trembled through the receiver. “The police just arrived. They’re asking to speak with you about the situation.”

Brook’s face went pale in an instant. A wave of realization crashed over him. It was Kellan who reported him. It had to be.

But there was no time to dwell on it now. The police were already questioning him over the phone. His face darkened.

He dropped his voice, gritting his teeth. “Someone must be deliberately framing me. I have no knowledge of any of this, but I will cooperate fully.”

He ended the call, his hand tightening around his cane before snapping his glare toward Kellan. “Kellan! Why are the police calling me? What did you tell them?”

Kellan watched him expressionlessly.

“You’ll know soon enough.”

Brook’s ominous premonition deepened. As the phone rang, the assistant spoke with extreme urgency.
