Chapter 683
Luckily, the t
family was pretty well off, actually even richer than the Chapman family.
And besides, Amelia had a thing for Lance,
In the end, Matthew and Kate could only accept this fact with a smile.
Matthew said, "Well, since the decision's been made, let's pick a lucky day for the wedding!"
Levi replied, "Don't worry We'll make sure Lance and Any have a beautiful wedding!"
Jacqueline added with a smile, "it be a grand affair"
Lance squeezed Amelia's hand tightly. "Thank you, both of our moms and dads"
Amelia leaned slightly on Lance's shoulder. "Thank you, Mom and Dad, and thank you, Mr. Yates and Mrs. Yates
Lance chuckled, "You're kinda shy, aren't you?"
Amelia was left speechless for a moment.
Jacqueline said with a smile, "Girls being shy is totally normal, silly"
Everyone laughed
The two families shared their first meal together.
They talked over the basic arrangements for Lance and Amelia's wedding.
After lunch, Lance and Amelia slipped away for a little date of their own. Cameron headed home together with Gavin, Levi, and Jacqueline,
In the car, Levi glanced at Gavin. "You really ought to learn from your Lance. Look at you. You're getting older and still single"
Hearing this, Gavin was momentarily speechless, not knowing how to respond.
Jacqueline chuckled, "Cam, you should learn from Lance too. Just make sure you don't end up like your Gavin,"
Cameron frore for a second, at a complete loss for words
Gavin stared blankly
He thought, "So now I'm the cautionary tale?
"Weren't both Lance and I getting chewed out just yesterday?
Now I'm the only one left flying solo!
He never expected things to turn out this way.
By the time they got back to the Yates Manor, it was already three in the afternoon Cameron figured she might as well take the rest of the day off and not bother going to the company.
At six-thirty that evening, Cameron got a WhatsApp message from Bradley Working late tonight?]
That was when it hit her. She'd totally forgotten to tell Bradley she didn't go to work today.
Every day, the clockwork at saz, Bradley would be waiting outside her office building for her.
If anything ever came up, he'd always let her know ahead of time,
Cameron quickly replied: [Yeah, I've got to work late for a bit. Just hang tight for
me.
She jumped up, threw on a fresh outfit, and headed downstairs.
Jacqueline was in the living room, arranging flowers.
Cameron grabbed her bag. "Mom, I won't be home for dinner tonight."
Jacqueline paused and asked, "Going out with friends?"
Cameron replied, "Yeah, just following Lance's example" Jacqueline was confused by her words.
She drove straight to the company's underground parking lot.
Then she took the elevator up to the lobby to look for Bradley As soon as she got
got to the entrance, she spotted Bradley's sleek black Mercedes.
Bradley had already been waiting for twenty minutes.
A small smile tugged at the corners of Cameron's lips.
Before she even reached the car, Bradley got out of the driver's seat, holding a
huge bouquet of gardenias as he walked toward her,
This was the season when gardenias were in full bloom
As soon as she got closer, Cameron could smell the intoxicating fragrance of the flowers.
"Thanks," Cameron said, taking the flowers from Bradley
Bradley opened the passenger door for her, and as Cameron got in, he personally made sure she was buckled in, taking care of her with his usual attention to detail.
Once he was back in the driver's seat, one hand casually on the wheel, he glanced at Cameron and asked, "Cam, do you know what gardenias mean?"
Cameron turned her head, a little curious. "What?"
Bradley was backlit
The setting sun cast golden rays behind him, making it look like he was wrapped
in shimmering ught.
Bradley said, "Eternal love."
Gardenias had more than one meaning, but Bradley only picked this one
Since Cameron was kind of clueless and passive about love, he decided he'd have to take the initiative and show her the way
Cameron cradled the bouquet in her arms, murmuring softly. "Liemal love
Bradley looked at her, and there was no hiding the affection in his deep eyes behind those gold rimmed glasses.
Cameron turned her head, meeting Bradley's deep, soulful gaze
With a smile playing on his lips, Bradley asked, "So, what do you feel like having for dinner
"Brad," Cameron suddenly called out.
"Yeah?" Bradley's eyes never left her for a second.
"Let me drive," Cameron said, glancing at him.
Bradley didn't even ask. He just unbuckled his seatbelt and stepped out of the car
Cameron took the driver's seat and started the engine.
cam,
where are we going?" Bradley asked curiously.
Cameron kept her eyes on the road. "You'll see soon enough."
Bradley just let it go and stayed quiet.
The car left the city behind and headed out onto the empty roads in the suburbs.
Bradley stared out the window at the road slipping by, and something about it felt strangely familiar.
He was sure it
was a piece of the memories he'd lost.
Finally, the car pulled up at the gates of Silvermoss Castle.
"Brad, look at the camera, Cameron said.
Bradley looked up at the camera on the gate.
The facial recognition system scanned him, and the gate opened automatically
Bradley was surprised.
He thought, "Wait, the facial recognition actually let me in?
Is this really my house?"
Cameron
drove the car inside.
After turning off the engine, she got out
Bradley stayed in the car, taking in the sight of the strange, unfamiliar castle.
"Mr. Saunders, Miss Yates, you're back" The butley heard the commotion and came out, spotting Bradley and Cameron. He was visibly excited,
'Seven years...it's really been seven years.
"They have finally come home, the butler thought, his heart pounding with emotion,
All these years, the butler had faithfully watched over the castle, cleaning and tending the gardens every single day, carrying out his duties with utmost
diligence.
It was Eddie who had been paying his salary
Eddie had told him that Bradley would come back one day, and that he should
take good care of the house until then,
And now, they were really hack,
Bradley got out of the car and saw a middle aged man beaming at him, but he
had no idea who the gry was
He just nodded politely
The butler was overjoyed. "Mr. Saunders, why didn't you give me a heads up before coming back? There's nothing to eat at home right now.'ll go and grab some groceries. It won't take me long. You and Miss Yates just relax for a bit." With that, the butler hopped into his car and drove off.
Once the butler left, only then did Bradley tear his gaze away from the castle and look at Cameron, "Cam, is this place really mine?
Cameron nodded. "Yeah, you bought it so could raise Pearl here."
Bradley said, "Sorry. I really don't remember any of this."
Eddie had told him about it before.
"That must've been a really happy time... Bradley thought to himself.
Cameron met his apologetic eyes and said with a teasing smile, "You know, this is
also the place where you kept ing locked up seven years ago."
Bradley was stunned upon hearing these words.
"Cam,..."
"Brad, it her turned you down back then, you hadn't locked me up here by force,
but had courted me patiently like you do now, maybe we'd already
be married," Cameron said.
Bradley was stunned,
He thought, 'Getting married!
'Cameron was actually thinking about marriage?
He was at a complete loss for words.
As a lawyer, he was always eloquent and quick with a comeback.
-But right now, he didn't know how to respond to Cameron,
or should a part of him be secretly glad that he and Cameron had once shared so
many beautiful.
Should he feel a pang of regret for what he'd lost, or s memories!
Even though, right now, he couldn't remember
single one.
When Cameron saw he was silent, she simply turned and walked into the living
room
e seven years ago,
The living room furnishings remained unchanged, exactly as they were:
Cameron sat down on the sola
Bradley stood there for several seconds before finally following her inside.
1. n. Let me apologize to you again, from
He took a seat in the armchair right next to her.
"Cam Bradley reached for her hand, a little hesitant Cameron didn't pull away
Bradley laced his fingers with hers and held on light.
He said, “T'm really sorry about what happened seven years ago, I don't even
know why I acted that way back then. the bottom of my heart...”
"Brad," Cameron cut him off.
She'd already heard him apologize for this more times than she could count.
Besides, Bradley didn't even remember those months anymore, so there was no
need to go over it all again.
Bradley stopped, quietly gazing at her, his eyes full of unspoken emotion.
He kept holding Cameron's hand, never letting go
"It's all in the past now," Cameron said gently.
He'd been such a jerk to her back then, and yet, unbelievably, she forgave him.
Bradley said quietly, “Cam, can hold you!"
Cameron just looked at him in silence.
Bradley knew she'd always been the passive one when it came to feelings.
He hesitated for a moment, then reached out and
d gently pulled Cameron into his ans
The instant he held her, Bradley felt like his heart, empty for seven years, was
suddenly whole again.
He couldn't help but hold her a little tighter.
I'm sorry, Bradley whispered silently in his heart
Cameron leaned her head against Bradley's shoulder.
All she could smell was that familiar lemony scent.
Her fingers twitched at her side. Then she reached up and gently circled Bradley's
lean waist with her arms.
ty was surprised by what she did.
Bradley
As soon as he felt Cameron hug him back, his pupils contracted sharply, his heart
skipping a best in disbelief.
'Cam is hugging me. She's actually hugging met hethought, overwhelmed with joy
Bradley pulled back a little, staring at Cameron in disbelief. "Cam, are you accepting me now?"
Cameron stayed quiet.
However, her arms stayed wrapped around his waist
"Cam..." Bradley's voice trembled, thick with emotion, dropping to a husky whisper.
13:49 Mon, 28 Jul & © G
Is she really accepting me now? Is this actually happening? Bradley's heart pounded wildly in disbelief
"Mr. Saunders, Miss Yates," the butler's voice called from outside. "I got really
lucky today! I managed to snag these huge, fresh lobsters even at this hour,
and...noveldrama
The butler walked up to the door, and when he saw the two of them wrapped up in each other's arms, he frone for a second.
Then, with a knowing smile, he said, "Oh, I didn't see a thing! You two just carry
on.."
With that, the butler hurried off to the kitchen, carrying the groceries he'd just
bought.
Once he was in the kitchen, he suddenly realized he'd forgotten to ask what they wanted for dinner.
However, it was obviously not the right time to go back out and ask, so he just decided to make a few of his best dishes.
Whistling a tune, the butler got to work in the kitchen.
In the living room.
Bradley and Cameron weren't disturbed at all.
Bradley gazed deeply into Cameron's eyes.
Her eyes were so mysterious that, for once, someone like Bradley, who'd always
prided himselfon reading people, couldn't tell what she was thinking at
"Cam, answer me. Does this mean you've finally accepted me?" Bradley asked,
his voice gentle and patient.
A hint of a smile played at Cameron's lips, but she still didn't say anything.
Bradley pulled her tightly into his arms, lowering his gaze to look down at her. "Cam, if you keep quiet like this, I'm just going to assume you're saying yes."
Cameron's lips curled into a smile. "Brad, ask me the same thing you did seven years ago.
Bradley was puzzled.
'Seven years ago? What did i ask her back then?' he thought, his mild spinning.
He hesitated for a moment, and then asked, "Cam, do you want to be my
girlfriend?"
Cameron grinned, "I do."
Bradley was overjoyed by her response.
What do you think?
