Chapter 854
Chapter 854:
Suddenly, Eileen understood why Conroy had summoned her here. He was probing into her relationship with Bryan. “Is Mr. Dawson interested in you, Eileen?” Conroy finally asked, becoming more direct.
Eileen raised an eyebrow, her tone neutral. “But I’m interested in him.”
Conroy was taken aback and said anxiously, “But you used to be quite taken with him! What changed your mind? When I told you not to offend him, you didn’t listen.”
Eileen interjected, “I initially considered marrying Bryan to stabilize the Vazquez family’s finances and secure our future, given the VQ Group’s struggles. However, now that the company is thriving, my priorities have shifted. Bryan is divorced with a child; I don’t want to marry him.”
Conroy’s eyes blazed with anger, his gaze piercing enough to kill. He found Eileen’s attitude infuriating.
“Do you even know what you’re talking about? Do you have any idea who Mr. Dawson is?” Conroy’s tone was forceful, his words dripping with emphasis. “Even if he’s been divorced multiple times, he would still be an exceptional match for you!”
Eileen suddenly fell silent, her eyes locking onto Conroy’s. Just as he started to reel uneasily, she reached out with lightning speed and yanked at his hair. She had intended to pull out a grey hair for a DNA test.
But to her surprise, she accidentally yanked out a whole wig, revealing Conroy’s shiny, bald scalp beneath. Only a few stray strands framed his temples. It turned out he had been wearing a wig this whole time.
The atmosphere turned awkward as Eileen examined the wig in her hand, her curiosity genuine. “Do you wear this even when you sleep?” she asked.

She recalled the night she had forced Conroy and Gianna out, remembering how his hair had still been intact.
Conroy’s face reddened with rage. He grabbed the wig back, attempting to put it on again. However, Eileen had accidentally damaged the wig, and it wouldn’t stay in place on his head.
“It’s a full wig, isn’t it? You should really shave your head for a more secure fit. How about I help you shave your hair?” Eileen looked at Conroy’s head. If she didn’t help him shave his hair, she wouldn’t be able to get his hair for a DNA test.
Conroy’s hair was sparse and clipped short, making it difficult to extract a strand. He was visibly irritated as he adjusted his wig, exclaiming, “There! No need for pretense here. You’re just after my hair for a paternity test, aren’t you?”
With her motives revealed, Eileen remained calm. “Now that you’re aware, why not just hand me a strand of your hair?”
“There’s no way I’m letting you touch my hair!” Conroy gestured dismissively, his expression one of outright refusal.
Eileen paused briefly before replying, “Have you thought about how much safer it is to extract a hair than to use blood for a DNA test? If I needed blood, I might have to carry a knife, which would mean you’d always be wary of me possibly stabbing you. At best, you’d end up with stitches; at worst, it could be fatal.”noveldrama
“HOW dare you!” Conroy shuddered at her suggestion. “If you harm me with that knife, I’ll see you in jail!”
