Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 898

Chapter 898:

As Eileen settled back and tried to rest, Gabriela’s gentle touches on her face stirred her sleep. Eileen shifted slightly, settling back into her dreams.

“Don’t disturb Mommy anymore, Gabriela,” Bryan said.

“If Mommy doesn’t get enough sleep, you won’t be able to share the bed with her.”

Gabriela’s large eyes widened, and she declared earnestly,

“Then I’ll sleep with Daddy!”

Bryan was momentarily lost for words.

He really wanted to sleep with Eileen!

“Gabriela, you’re a girl. It’s better if you spend more time with Mommy. I can’t always share a bed with you,” Bryan said.

“Daddy is girly too!” Gabriela protested. “It’s fine!”

“It really isn’t fine,” Bryan explained patiently.

“You’re old enough to understand the difference between boys and girls. When you’re outside, don’t just hold any boy’s hand. You can’t—”

“Daddy can hold my hand and kiss me!” Gabriela interjected, kicking her legs in defiance.

Their conversation seemed like it was about to escalate into a full-blown argument. Eileen couldn’t help but smile through her drowsiness, amused by the conversation between Bryan and Gabriela.

Later, as they arrived at the VQ Group headquarters, Eileen straightened her clothes and wrapped herself in a thick down jacket. Stepping out of the car, she tied her long black hair into a ponytail, looking more energetic. Yet, her casual attire and lack of makeup made her stand out starkly as she walked through the company doors, drawing many curious glances.

Rumors about Eileen and her father vying for control over the family estate were rampant. Conroy, decisive and clad in his sharp suit, had convinced the staff he was coming out on top.

As Eileen entered the building, lacking the forceful demeanor of her father, everyone seemed certain she would be the one to fall.

Whispers followed Eileen like shadows as she made her way to the top floor, but Eileen remained unfazed. In Bryan’s office, she shed her bulky down jacket.

Raymond hurried in with the news.

“Mr. Dawson, Ms. Curtis, Conroy has been in the meeting for two hours. You’d better hurry and go.”

“Let Eileen handle it,” Bryan said, loosening his tie, his fatigue evident after hours on the road.

Eileen was resolute. “Ignore Conroy for now. Just gather some dependable people and get the security team here.”

After hanging up her down jacket, Eileen turned to Bryan and said firmly, “Wait here, I’ll handle this.”

Bryan nodded.

“Alright.”
