Chapter 200
Chapter 200:
“Mistake? Honey, letting this greasy loser touch us was the first mistake. Time to fix it.”
“Wait… We—” Layla snapped me off.
“Ain’t doing that no more, honey. I’ve waited a freaking long time, and you aren’t stopping me!” Her tone dropped with finality.
Before I could respond, she surged forward, not waiting for permission. My trembling stopped. My breathing evened out. Power—hers—flooded through me, and suddenly, I wasn’t afraid anymore.
Layla, I could feel her aura, her strength. She was magnificent. The rogue didn’t notice the change right away. He was still too busy trying to rile up Ryder.
“Hand over the pack papers, Alpha, or I’ll—”
He didn’t get to finish. Layla acted.
I twisted out of his grip, my movements faster than I thought possible. My hand snapped to his wrist, wrenching it so hard the knife clattered to the ground. His shocked expression was priceless, and Layla practically purred in satisfaction.
“That’s right, sweetheart,” she mocked him. “Time’s up.”
The rogue stumbled back, his arrogance melting into fear. I felt Layla push forward harder, demanding control, and I let her. I didn’t just shift—I exploded. My body changed in an instant, fur bursting forth, my limbs growing stronger, faster. Layla was sleek and powerful, her energy crackling in the air like lightning.
The rogue leader stumbled, his confidence shattered. He wasn’t laughing now.noveldrama
Layla’s growl filled the room, low and dangerous, sending shivers through everyone present. She eyed the rogue like he was prey.
“You’re about to regret breathing, buddy.”
He lunged, desperate, but Layla sidestepped him with ease.
“Oh, please,” she said, her voice laced with amusement. “Is that all you’ve got?”
I couldn’t tell what was going on, but Layla? She was super cool. Way cooler. Way more awesome. By the Goddess, how on earth did I ever try restricting her at first?

Her claws slashed across his chest, sending him crashing into a display of vases that shattered on impact.
“Oops,” she said mockingly, her tone dripping with sass. “You break it, you buy it.”
I’d really trust Layla with this—to throw a snarky comment even at such a serious moment.
The chaos erupted around us, but Layla was laser-focused. Warriors charged in, rogues fought back, but all I could feel was the wild exhilaration of Layla’s strength and precision. We were a force of nature, untouchable.
Ryder’s wolf, Ace, howled from across the room, his pride radiating through our bond. “That’s our mate!”
We didn’t stop until every rogue was either subdued or fleeing. When the last one fell, Layla finally let me shift back, though her energy still hummed through me. The gallery was a wreck—glass and wood scattered everywhere—but we’d won.
Ryder approached me cautiously, his expression a mix of awe and concern.
“You okay?” he asked softly, his eyes searching mine.
I nodded, feeling a shaky but triumphant grin stretch across my face. “Told you I could handle myself.”
He chuckled, pulling me into his arms, his hold tight and possessive. “Remind me never to doubt you again.”
I melted into his embrace, the adrenaline fading. Layla hummed contentedly.
“You’re welcome,” she said smugly, retreating to the back of my mind.
“You feel that? That’s how satisfied and proud our mate is right now. Next time, don’t underestimate me,” Layla scolded me. I nodded, agreeing—she was typically the boss here right now.
