Shunned By An Alpha, Cherised By A Lycan

Chapter 231

Chapter 231:

I wanted to claw his face off. I wanted to rip him apart with the kind of fury only a werewolf could summon. But I was too weak, too drained. The Veilroot had made sure of that. My head lolled to the side, my hair sticking to my sweat-soaked skin.

Jason’s smirk deepened, and then he leaned in closer. His breath was hot against my cheek, and his eyes locked onto one spot—my neck. Realization hit me like a punch to the gut.

He was going to mark me.

My stomach twisted, bile rising in my throat. If he marked me, that would be it. The final nail in the coffin. Our bond would be sealed forever, and there would be no hope of ever going back to Ryder. My heart pounded so loudly, I could hear it in my ears.

I snapped my head back, trying to pull away from him. “Don’t you dare,” I snarled, my voice cracking. “You think you can force me into this? You’re pathetic.”

Jason’s eyes darkened, shifting from icy blue to a chilling, blood-red hue. He grabbed my chin, his fingers bruising my skin. “You don’t get a say, Jasmine. You never did.”

He pulled me closer, his mouth hovering just above my neck. The sharp point of his teeth grazed my skin, and panic surged through me like a jolt of electricity. My entire body screamed in terror. If he marked me, that would be it. I’d lose everything. Ryder. My freedom. My future. No. This can’t happen. It won’t happen.

I thrashed with everything I had left, but it was like fighting against a mountain. My vision swam with spots as Jason chuckled, his breath sending shivers of disgust down my spine. “Relax,” he whispered. “It’ll be over soon.”

His lips parted, his teeth descending toward my neck, and then—

BAM!

The door burst open with a deafening crash, the wood splintering under the force. My eyes flew wide open as a figure charged into the room. Jason’s grip on me loosened, and I gasped for air, my lungs desperate for relief.

I blinked through the haze, barely processing what was happening. Then I saw her.

“Morn?” My voice was weak, barely more than a whisper, but it carried a desperate hope that she would hear me, that everything would be okay now. She was here. She came to rescue me. She had to have come to save me, right?

My heart pounded with the flicker of relief. My mother—my protector, my everything—was finally here. She would make everything better, like she always did when I was…noveldrama

A child, when I needed her most. She needed to know what Jason had done to me. She needed to understand. She had to.

“He tried to…” I stuttered, my voice cracking painfully as the words choked in my throat. I couldn’t say it, couldn’t get the truth out. A sob wracked my body. I broke. I just… broke. The tears poured down my face, and I didn’t care that they stained my cheeks.

Why was I crying? Was I weak for this?

But she didn’t rush to me.

Her eyes, cold as ice, flicked past me, ignoring my tear-streaked face completely. Her gaze locked onto Jason, and she… she frowned. Frowned? My world tilted, and for a moment, the ground beneath me felt like it could swallow me whole.

My mother—my mother—wasn’t looking at me. She wasn’t concerned. Her attention wasn’t even on me.

“You have to wait, son,” she said, her tone calm, even casual. “She’s just recovering from the blood tie. Give her time to rest. We don’t want her dead.”

My heart… shattered. No. No, she didn’t just say that.

Wait, what?

Mom was… What?
