Talented Heiress: A Rose With Thorns

Chapter 893

"Why won't you listen to me, Yvie?" asked Wilson disapprovingly.

He sighed helplessly, well-defined hands reaching out to wrap around her slender waist.

His tone was firmer as he said, "Take a short break first."

Yvette found herself being carried away by him. She pursed her lips in dissatisfaction, raising her eyes to look at him as she stated, "I'm not tired."

"Not tired?" Wilson echoed, his eyes narrowing slightly as he pinched her cheeks with his long, slender fingers. "You think I believe you?"

Yvette fell silent.noveldrama

He sure wasn't easy to fool!

Wilson gazed at her, eyes filled with gentle affection. His deep, husky voice rang out unhurriedly in her ear. "You may not feel bad for yourself, but I certainly do."

Feeling a warmth curl around her heart, she blinked lightly, then nodded. "Alright, I'll take a short break."

A smile finally appeared on his face. He then proceeded to carry her into the

room.

She was bewildered. "I only promised to take a short break!"

"I know," he replied.

He lowered his head to place a light kiss on her forehead, and when he spoke again, his voice was gentle yet irresistible.

"Leave tracking down Wesley's whereabouts to me. Your current mission is to get some good rest, Yvie!"

...

Back at Dark Organization headquarters, Xavier rushed to meet Theodore, evidently having just returned from outside not too long ago.

"You were asking for me, Mr. Maximillian?"

Theodore was sitting on his throne, face pale. However, the pressure he exuded ensured that nobody would underestimate him.

"It's nothing major. I simply wanted to ask you how the investigation into the whereabouts of Wilson and his group is going."

Xavier lowered his gaze, answering respectfully, "We have yet to find any leads on Wilson's whereabouts, Mr. Maximillian. The investigation is still ongoing."

Theodore sneered coldly,

commenting, "He sure is something

to be able to escape Dark

Organization territory without a

scratch and even elude your grasp! How truly incredible."

Xavier's expression changed slightly at his words, but before he could speak,

Theodore continued, "Forget it. Continue investigating. We must capture Wilson."

Xavier's jaw tightened, but he nodded nevertheless, replying, "Yes, Mr. Maximillian."

Theodore picked up his teacup and took a sip from it. His gaze was frosty. Casually, he asked, "Why haven't I seen Yvie these few days?"

Xavier's eyes darkened slightly before he responded calmly, "Yvie has been in a bad mood for the past

few days, so she's been holing

herself up in the villa..."

Before he could finish speaking, Theodore's expression turned dark, and he viciously threw his cup at Xavier.

"You're still lying to me!" he roared.

His face was full of anger and disappointment toward the lies and betrayal.

"To think you're actually helping Yvie deceive me! The both of you have utterly disappointed me!"

Xavier's expression didn't change despite the scalding hot tea burning his arms, nor did he cry out in pain. He simply accepted Theodore's anger calmly. "Please calm down, Mr. Maximillian..."

With a loud crash, Theodore swept the entire tea set off the table, his fury rising.

"Shut up! Go receive your punishment in the dungeon later."

"Yes, Mr. Maximillian," Xavier responded respectfully, face emotionless.

He already knew that they wouldn't be able to keep things from Theodore for long,

and similarly, he had long expected to be punished for it.

But even then, if there was ever a next time, he still wouldn't be able to refuse any request from Yvette.
