Chapter 266
Meanwhile, Paisley was still seriously working with the actors, but she suddenly felt something and looked up. When she saw the large light falling from above, her pupils suddenly narrowed. Before she could react, a huge force slammed into her, knocking her down. However, when she fell, her body didn't hit the ground but was instead tightly held by a pair of arms. The surroundings became noisy, with screams and footsteps echoing everywhere.
"Paisley, are you okay?" Paisley's mind was buzzing. She was still caught in the terror of almost being crushed by the falling light and couldn't snap back to reality
Her eyes couldn't focus, and all she could see was Dominick's blurry face. Dominick was
breathing heavily, feeling a great sense of relief.
If he hadn't noticed the change in the light above Paisley's head just now, he wouldn't have been able to protect her in time. But even so, Dominick looked at the blood flowing from Paisley's forehead. The edge of the light had still scraped her head. "Paisley, can you hear me?" Dominick shouted anxiously, waiting for her response.
Paisley took a few quick breaths, the buzzing sound in her head slowly fading. Her unfocused eyes gradually started to focus, and she finally saw Dominick's face, meeting his gaze filled with extreme concern.
"I-
I'm fine." She shook her head, but as soon as she moved, a sharp pain shot from her head. She wanted to reach up to touch it, but Dominick stopped her. "Don't touch it." Paisley just wanted to check the condition of her wound. From the pain and the amount
of blood, it didn't seem too serious.
It was just bound to hurt for a while. She turned her head to look at the fallen light, its edge stained with her blood, with a lock of her hair caught in the gap.
Seeing the hair, Paisley was heartbroken. She was already at an age where she had to take extra care of her hair. Over the years, with her own efforts, her hair had been well- maintained.
Now, after all this, so much had fallen out, some of it even with the follicles. She didn't know if it would grow back.
Dominick watched as Paisley stared at the light with a troubled expression and assumed she was worried about her appearance. "Don't worry, you're still beautiful. You're perfect."
Paisley had to snap out of her thoughts and then noticed that Dominick's hand was also scratched by the falling light. Coincidentally, it was the same hand that had been pierced by glass when she had injured him before.
It seemed to be a hand with a lot of misfortune, Paisley thought. "Is your hand okay?"
Dominick had been so focused on Paisley that he hadn't noticed his own injury until she mentioned it. "It's nothing."
But compared to his own hand, Dominick was more concerned about Paisley's head. "Doctor? Is there a doctor?" He turned around and called out to Gary and the others who had rushed over. "This is a film set. Why would there be a doctor?" said Paisley. Plus, she was a doctor herself.
Paisley tried to stand up. Looking at the light lying near her feet, she was still feeling nervous.
Dominick helped Paisley up. Earlier, he had been so worried that he couldn't think straight, but now he realized that Paisley was an expert in medicine. Her skills were better than any doctor's. "Are you sure you're okay?" he asked, his heart trembling.
"I'm fine." Paisley checked her pulse and then found a mirror to check the wound. "It just looks worse than it is." Hearing this, Dominick finally let out a sigh of relief.
The rest of the crew didn't know that Paisley was a doctor. Seeing her injured and bleeding, especially on her head, they were all extremely worried.
Gary looked terrified, his face pale. "I've called for an ambulance. It should be here soon. Ms. Vaire, you should go to the hospital and get checked." Paisley didn't refuse. She needed to go to the hospital. Though it wasn't serious, it was still a deep wound that would need. stitches.
Gary looked at Dominick's bleeding hand. "Mr. Vanderbilt, you should go to the hospital too."
Dominick nodded. If Paisley was going, he would go too.
Paisley always kept some medicine in her bag. She took a pill and gave one to Dominick as well. Dominick didn't hesitate to take it, trusting her completely. "Aren't you going to ask what it is?" Paisley asked him.
"What's there to ask?"
"Aren't you afraid I'll poison you?" Paisley joked with him.
Dominick looked at Paisley's bright smile. "Then I'd be happy to die."
Not long after the ambulance arrived. Thanks to the pills, the bleeding from both Paisley and Dominick had significantly reduced. By the time the medical staff arrived, there was only a small amount of oozing blood left.
Gary and the other crew members were amazed. They were all curious about what Paisley had given to herself and Dominick, as the bleeding had visibly decreased. The two were taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital. Naturally, Lucy and Julian followed.noveldrama
It was only after they had all left that
Gary finally let out a small sigh of relief, but his face immediately darkened. "What happened? Who was responsible for setting up the site? How did the stage light fall? Investigate immediately!"
Right now, Dominick and
Paisley hadn't fully processed what happened. Once they got treated and thought it over, they definitely wouldn't let this slide.
It was pure tuck just now. If
Dominick hadn't protected Nion in
time, that stage light would've hit
Nion square on the head. If that had happened, even if no one died, they'd be seriously injured.
Gary shuddered at the thought. "Suspend all filming immediately! I want every piece of equipment thoroughly checked. This can't happen again."
The entire crew was thrown into chaos, except for Sheela, who sat quietly in a corner, staring at the fallen stage light and the
