The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains

Chapter 530 Everyone Arrives

Emily burst out of the hospital room, her heart pounding like a drum. She knew this was a matter of life and death.

In the empty hallway, she ran as fast as she could until she collided with a warm embrace, followed by a reassuring beam of light.

"Emily!" It was Michael. He had arrived just in time, with a group of people behind him, including Andrew and Daniel.

One person was busy directing others to restrain Scarlett, while another guided Michael to carry Emily to another room for a check-up. Amidst the chaos, Emily fainted once again.

"I'm sorry, I was still too late."

That was the last thing Emily heard before she closed her eyes.

After Scarlett was restrained, her struggles and curses gradually subsided.

But when she saw Michael approaching, a nameless rage ignited within her, and she couldn't help but scream at him.

"Do you think you can protect her like this? Michael, you're so naive, so ridiculous! When will you understand that everything I've done is for you and Veda?"

Michael looked at her coldly. He suddenly felt like he didn't know his own mother anymore.

He didn't know when it started, but her eyes were now filled only with schemes and calculations, devoid of any familial love. Now, she didn't even leave him a shred of illusion.

Michael was heartbroken, but he still forced himself to remain calm. "Mom, at this point, stop deceiving yourself."

Scarlett thought Michael was utterly foolish, going against his own mother for a

woman.

Wouldn't people laugh at him?noveldrama

"Michael! I admit I didn't raise you, but don't forget, you and Veda are my children. I carried you for nine months. I'm your real mother. Treating me like this, you'll go to hell!"

Scarlett had always believed that children should unconditionally obey their mother's words and commands.

No matter what she had done or what thoughts she had, she was still the legitimate wife of the Smith family. As long as Mason didn't act against her, neither Michael, Veda, nor anyone else in the Smith family would dare to do anything to her.

And what about little Emily?

Killing her would be as easy as crushing an ant.

But what Scarlett didn't expect was that Michael was determined to completely expel her from the Smith family this time.

He was even resolved to sever their mother-son relationship. To that end, Michael had also brought Veda and Mason to the hospital.

Seeing Scarlett screaming and cursing at Michael, Veda's heart nearly stopped.

With tears in her eyes, Veda walked towards Michael, trembling, as Mason went to check on Emily. She spoke softly but firmly. "Michael, you've suffered. Emily..." Veda had just learned everything.

Emily's premature birth was due to their mother's deliberate harm. And now, Scarlett had personally tried to kill her to silence her, even at the cost of the Smith family's reputation and their future.

Choking back tears, Veda's eyes were filled with guilt and anger. "She doesn't deserve to be our mother! You're right, Michael. Let's hand her over to the police!"

After struggling and thinking it over, Veda finally understood that the so-called family love was hard to explain in their dysfunctional family.

The family love she had always wanted was nothing but a joke.

Michael held Veda's hand, a determined look in his eyes.

He thought the same. Only by doing this could the Smith family completely rid themselves of this endless conflict, and Emerald City could temporarily regain peace with these troublemakers behind bars.

Emily could also live a good life with her child, which was the most important thing. Seeing Michael nod, Veda's face also showed resolute determination. Scarlett finally began to panic.

Under the control of security, she continued to struggle and scream. "You're trying to drive me to death!

"Veda, Michael is blinded by that woman and doesn't recognize me as his mother. But you? You're my child. How can you treat me like this?

"I gave birth to you and raised you. I've worried about your marriage for so long. If you hadn't ignored it, letting Emily and her illegitimate child compete for the family inheritance, would I have acted so urgently? You don't understand my actions!"

Scarlett was almost out of breath from crying.

Jenny, who had saved Emily, watched from the side.

Michael had promised her a substantial reward for her help.

So, Jenny fearlessly pointed at Scarlett and accused her. "Fake! So damn fake! You always complain that your children don't recognize you, but look at yourself! You're the one harming your own grandson! What kind of twisted karma are you creating?" Hearing this, Veda shot Jenny a stern look.

She only allowed herself and Michael to criticize Scarlett. As for others, they had no right.

Veda saw herself as one of the noble heirs of the Smith family. How could she let her mother be humiliated like this?

She unceremoniously scolded Jenny. "I know you saved Emily today, and I'm very grateful. But you're just a nanny Michael hired. I hope you won't say such things again. Don't go too far, or the Smith family won't keep someone like you!"

Veda was already in a bad mood. She took this opportunity to scold Jenny in front of everyone.

Michael wanted to intervene, but Emily walked in from outside.

She looked solemn, the red mark on her neck still visible.

Her presence was stronger, and her voice was heard before she even entered the room.

"The Smith family may not want her, but I do."

As she spoke, everyone turned to look at her. Emily had already walked up to Veda.

She spoke, her cold eyes fixed on Scarlett.

"Veda, I know you're upset, but if anyone's had the worst day, it's me. I was sleeping peacefully and got strangled. If Harry hadn't been there, I might have been in even more trouble."

Veda knew Emily was right. The Smith family owed her.

She couldn't say much. Though she understood the situation, her emotions were conflicted. Scarlett still held some weight in her heart.

Despite saying they could deal with her as they wished, Veda still felt reluctant.

So, she clung to Jenny's mistake, hoping it might help Scarlett.

"Emily, I respect you. What my mom did was wrong, but no matter how wrong, it shouldn't be up to a nanny to criticize her!"

Veda was concerned and confused, and Emily understood.
