Chapter 567 Frequent Incidents
"It's really him," Emily muttered under her breath. Michael noticed her distress and quickly stepped forward, gently rubbing her back and whispering words of comfort. "Don't worry, let's make sure first."
He swiftly contacted the tech team, requesting a thorough analysis of the footage to find concrete evidence. But Emily couldn't hold back her anxiety. She had confronted Tom earlier, thinking she had convinced him to back off. She never imagined he would secretly plot all this, even willing to destroy the entire Brown Corporation!
Emily's heart was filled with regret and anger, tears blurring her vision. Tom's ambition was far beyond what she had imagined, and she had naively thought she could resolve their feud. Emily felt a mix of guilt and fury, biting her lip hard to calm herself down.
Michael quickly sensed something was off.
"What's wrong? Emily, are you hiding something from me?"
Finally, Emily couldn't hold it in any longer. Leaning against Michael, she choked out the truth, each word hitting like a heavy blow.
"Tom called me today. I asked him to come to Emerald Lake Manor to meet me. Then I arranged for Andrew and the others to come and drive Tom away, hoping he'd give up and never bother me again. But I never expected Tom to be so vicious! He went after my dad in revenge!"
Michael was shocked, quickly piecing things together. So, it was likely Evelyn's brother Tom seeking revenge, and his purpose for contacting Emily was clear. He was probably trying to leverage his sister's status to dominate the Brown family.
Tom's actions tonight were not just aimed at Hayden but were a full-scale attack on the Brown Corporation. Being a small-time thug in Emerald City, he didn't care about the
consequences.
Michael took a deep breath, calmly analyzing the situation.
"Our priority now is to find Tom. Let's go to the hospital first. As long as your dad is okay, we can handle everything else."
Emily, tears streaming down her face, nodded and followed Michael out of the surveillance room. As the door closed, one of the staff inside suddenly flashed a sinister smile at the screen. He quickly took out his phone and sent an encrypted message.
[Mission accomplished, target is hooked.]
Meanwhile, in a private room at a bar, a man stared at his phone screen for a while, a cold smile curling his lips.
He muttered to himself, "Tom played his move well."
Perhaps too pleased with his plan, he gently swirled his glass, a hint of smugness in his eyes, and continued.
"This move of using someone else to do the dirty work is just to make them taste the bitterness of internal strife. If I can't get my aunt and brother's approval, they won't have a peaceful life either, especially Michael!"
With that, the man slammed his glass onto the table, shards flying everywhere. A flash of malice crossed his eyes as he made up his mind. This game had just begun.
He slowly stood up, walked to the window, and looked down at the brightly lit Emerald City, plotting his next move. The turmoil in the Brown family, Michael's anxiety, and everything was under his control.
A cold smile appeared on his lips as he muttered to himself, "Who will be the final winner of this game is yet to be seen. Stay tuned!"
Mark was almost frantic when he found Patrick. Patrick quickly sensed something was off. He had planned to take Candice home first, but she was curious about what was happening and insisted on coming along. Patrick couldn't refuse and agreed.
When they saw Mark, he was sweating profusely, pale-faced, and his voice was trembling.
"Mr. Wright, you've been asking me to keep tabs on Dean and monitor his every move, right?"
Patrick frowned, looking at Mark with suspicion.

"Mark, you're not trying to pull something on me again, are you?"
"You know how influential Michael is in Emerald City. If you dare to deceive us, you'll never survive here!"
Patrick's tone turned cold, a stark contrast to his demeanor at the amusement park earlier. Candice was even more confused, not knowing what was going on, and could only observe quietly.
Mark hurriedly explained, "Mr. Wright, I wouldn't dare deceive you and Mr. Smith. Dean Lancaster has indeed been acting strangely! He's been frequently meeting with unidentified people, seemingly planning something big."
Mark's eyes flashed with fear, his voice growing more urgent.
"He's been contacting me less, so please don't blame me for not providing information. He changed his plans suddenly, and I couldn't get any useful intel!" Patrick pondered for a moment, his expression growing more serious, and slowly nodded. He had known Mark for years and could tell if he was lying. Especially seeing him like this now, if he were just acting, he'd be an Oscar winner by now. It seemed Dean was indeed up to something.
"Alright, send Dean a message now. Ask him what he's been up to lately and invite him out for drinks tomorrow night."
"I'll cover the costs. If possible, try to get some information from him about what's going on."noveldrama
Mark nodded, quickly taking out his phone to compose a message. After sending it, the three fell silent, each lost in their thoughts.
Candice couldn't help but ask softly, "Dean Lancaster, that name sounds familiar. How is he related to Archibald?"
If Candice hadn't asked, Patrick might have forgotten she knew Archibald. At this point, he had nothing to hide. After all, she was his girlfriend. There was nothing he couldn't
say.
"Archibald's brother. His girlfriend is Sophia, the one who framed Emily and caused her premature birth."
'Wow, the relationships were so tangled. Your circle was indeed messy.' Mark thought. Patrick quickly asked again, "How's it going? Did you send it?"
Mark looked up, nodding quickly.
"Yes, Mr. Wright, don't worry. I'll do my best to find out the truth."
Patrick nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over Candice, a hint of tenderness in his eyes.
"Let's go. It's getting late, and you must be tired."
Candice nodded gently, still filled with questions. But she knew this wasn't her business. If even Patrick and the others couldn't solve it, she shouldn't ask too much.
As they were leaving, Mark called out to Patrick, thinking he was being considerate.
"Mr. Wright, is this your new girlfriend? If you need any help, just let me know!" Patrick frowned, sneered, and patted Mark's shoulder.
"Thanks for the concern, but you don't need to worry about her."
Mark was stunned. Patrick seemed serious about this woman!
