The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 810

Clive was dumbfounded. All his life, this was the first time a doctor ever refused to help.

He watched Matthew and Tony walk a few steps away before snapping out of it. He quickly ran up to grab Matthew by the arm. "Hold on. I get it now. You're mad because I refused to let Dr. Carling in, right? I apologize. I was wrong. Please don't leave. Let me treat you both for a meal.

"We have more than 30 different fish dishes here. Let me treat you to a fish feast. You've got to try it."

Matthew pulled his arm away and snapped, "Get lost! I don't eat fish."

Next to Matthew, Tony watched the scene unfold in a daze. Didn't Matthew just say he was into fish? Why the sudden change of heart?

Clive could tell Matthew wasn't having it and wouldn't change his mind. He turned to Tony. "I'm sorry, Dr. Carling. That was my bad. I shouldn't have been so ungrateful, and I realize my mistake now. You saved my son's life. You're a true doctor-an angel who saves lives. I'm begging you to help me."

Frowning, Tony looked at Clive with a stern expression, his aging eyes suddenly sharpening. He started by observing Clive's lips, then moved on to Clive's complexion, eyes, nose, and chin.

After checking Clive out, Tony shook his head. "I don't see anything wrong with you. You should be fine."

Clive grew even more anxious. "You're a distinguished doctor, Dr. Carling. Everyone around here knows about it. Don't try to trick me. I know I was wrong, and I understand I messed up. Please help me out."

Tony was infuriated. "What are you babbling about? I'm upset about your ingratitude, but I wouldn't make things up about your condition. I still have my integrity as a doctor. You're not sick, plain and simple. How am I supposed to treat something that's not there?"

Realizing Tony wasn't going to lend a hand, Clive dropped to his knees with a thud. "I know I was wrong. I'm even getting down on my knees. Please, I'm begging you to forgive me."

Watching the scene unfold, Tony shouted, "Kneeling doesn't change anything! I seriously have no idea what's wrong with you. Even if you scrape your knees, it won't make a difference."

Clive was at a loss. Tony was dead set on not treating him.

Seeing that begging Tony wasn't going to work, Clive had no choice but to plead with Matthew, "You've figured out what's wrong with me. Please have mercy and treat me. I don't want to die. Save me "

Matthew indifferently glanced at Clive. "Why should I care if you die?"

With that, he helped Tony up and walked away.

Clive stayed on his knees and shouted at the top of his lungs, "I know I've made a mistake! Don't walk away, please. Save me..."

No matter how much Clive yelled, Matthew never looked back. He helped Tony into the back seat, then got in the car and drove away.

...

Ten minutes later, the car pulled up in front of a pasta restaurant. Matthew turned to the backseat. "How about we grab some pasta?"

Tony replied, "That won't do. I'm paying, so let's go somewhere nicer."

Matthew felt speechless. Even though Tony had no money, he insisted on treating Matthew to a fancy meal.

After thinking for a moment, Matthew added, "I actually prefer pasta."

Tony's mouth twitched. "If you really do love pasta that much, I'll get you some. We'll eat here. Before we do, I have a question for you."noveldrama
