The Heartbreak Prescription

My Dad Please Come 991

“It’s time to make our move! We can’t wait any longer,” Chelsea said to Gilbert.

“After what happened last time, Halsey is on high alert. Looks like our best chance is to use Warren,” Gilbert said.

Chelsea thought for a moment. “You’re right. Warren is Shaun’s best friend-he’s the perfect weapon against Halsey.”

“Warren trusts you completely,” Gilbert sneered. “He’s never suspected a thing. If he finds out who you really are…”

Chelsea cut him off sharply, “He’ll never find out! He trusts me completely.”

Gilbert nodded. “Good. Now call him and have him ask Halsey out. We have to make our move.”

Chelsea smiled. “Will do.”

She grabbed her phone and dialed Warren.

“You don’t want Halsey and Shaun to end up together, right? She’s hurt him time and again. We can’t let him fall for her again. As his best friend, we have to protect him.”

“What do you want to do?” Warren asked.

Chelsea said, “Call Halsey and get her to meet you. We’ll talk then.”

Warren agreed without hesitation. “Alright.”

Shaun spent the day out shopping with Halsey, then had dinner with her.

Halsey smiled at him. “You’re with me all day today? No work?”

Shaun wrapped his arm around her waist. “No work today. Just spending time with you and our baby.”

Halsey smiled happily. noveldrama

“Are you tired?” Shaun asked.

“A little.”

“Let’s head home, then.”

Shaun drove them back to the villa. He went to the study to work, while Halsey went to her room.

Suddenly, her phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was Warren.

Halsey smirked. It seemed like Gilbert and Chelsea were making a move.

She answered the call, and Warren’s voice came through.

“Do you have a moment?”

Halsey replied, “What do you want?”

“Nothing. I just wanna ask you out to talk.”

Halsey asked, “Just the two of us?”

Warren said nothing.

She knew Warren wasn’t a bad guy. He simply didn’t want her with Shaun.

“If I’m not mistaken, someone’s using you to get me out, right?” Halsey asked.

“What are you implying?”

Halsey warned him, “Here’s a reminder-don’t trust Chelsea. She’s using you.”

Warren sounded displeased. “Are you trying to stir trouble between me and Chelsea? From what I know, you almost killed Shaun three years ago. These past years, Chelsea has stood by his side. I know exactly who I should trust!”

Halsey scoffed. “Sometimes, what you see isn’t the truth. Last time you asked me out, do you know what Chelsea did to me?”

“Enough!” Warren snapped. “No matter what you say, I won’t believe you!”

Halsey felt helpless. She knew Warren’s grudge ran deep, and he wouldn’t trust her words.

“I just want to talk,” he insisted.

“Sorry, I don’t have time. I’m not meeting you.”

With that, Halsey hung up.
