The Silent 666

But Gabriel had no clue that
the boy in front of him was no naive kid, but a sly little wolf ready to bite.
After leaving Gabriel's study,
the Stonor family's butler led
Rafe to the quarters prepared for him.
Rafe glanced around as they walked, casually taking in the surroundings.
Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, he reached out and poked the butler in front of
him. "Hey, old man, where's my big brother? I've been back

for a while now, and he hasn't
even bothered to show up."
Rafe had seen Benedict in
00
court earlier and noticed he seemed to be siding with his
sister.
So compared to Matthew, Rafe was actually more interested in Benedict.
And, of course, there was also the matter of his second brother, Dylan.
It was said that Dylan had fallen out with everyone in the Duke's estate back then,
all
because of their sister. After leaving, he had vanished
15:38 0 J
without a trace.

Rafe had tried digging up info on him but found nothing.
But it didn't matter. After all, he would meet him sooner or
later.
For now, though, he was more interested in meeting his eldest brother.
However, the butler shook his head and replied, "He is not in the estate at the moment. Young master, please don't ask too many questions. Lord Mowbay said you're not
allowed to wander around for now, so don't make things hard

for us."

Hearing this, Rafe frowned
slightly, a hint of doubt
flashing across his face.
Not in the estate?
How could that be possible?
Benedict had clearly returned to the Duke's estate long ago,
and he had come back with
their father.
'Could it be that Benedict screwed up in court today and got himself locked away?"
At this thought, a meaningful glint flickered in Rafe's eyes.

He was curious to see what exactly his father had done.
Just as Rafe had expected, when they arrived at the courtyard prepared for him, the butler locked the gate as soon as he left.

Two burly guards stood like statues outside, their sharp gazes sweeping the courtyard.
Rafe strolled into the room, gave it a quick glance, then kicked off his shoes and

sprawled out on the bed like he
owned the place.
He lay there quietly, waiting for nightfall.

On the other side.
Eliza had returned to Saint
Grace Nunnery and was busy catching up on the scriptures she had fallen behind
on.

Outside the room, Renee stood holding a tray of freshly made pastries. She didn't enter but kept peeking inside every now and then, her face clouded
with worry.
"Her Highness has been copying scriptures for three hours straight today. It's so quiet. Did something happen at court?" Renee whispered to Tina, who had appearednoveldrama
behind her.

Since Eliza had been copying scriptures non-stop until
nightfall, it was hard not to feel
concerned.
Tina shook her head, her eyes curving slightly above the edge of her mask as she replied softly, "Don't worry, she is in a great mood today."
It was clear to Tina that Eliza was completely absorbed in her task of copying the scriptures.
Ever since the imperial decree was issued, Eliza had been brimming with energy. She needed an outlet for her

emotions.
After returning, she eagerly shared the good news with

both Reverend Mary Mendoza and her mother.
Then, she pulled out a thick stack of scriptures and copied them in one go until
now.
By the time night fell, her emotions had finally settled down a bit.
A faint smile appeared on her lips as she finished the last line and set her brush
down.
Just as she was about to call Renee in to take the copied scriptures to dry, Tina

suddenly entered with the tray
of pastries.
"Your brother is here," Tina
said. "He's waiting by the
stream behind the mountain
and says it's urgent."
