Chapter 500 Confrontation
As the sun dipped lower, the turbulent waves of the open sea hinted at an approaching storm.
The yacht rocked violently, heightening the tension among everyone on board.
They all understood the gravity of their situation: they had kidnapped Nathaniel's wife, a man known for his ruthlessness. Each one of them knew that getting off the boat might mean being hunted down relentlessly.
No one could fathom why Freya continued to resist. If she pushed Michael too far, both she and her brother would likely end up feeding the fish.
Michael fixed a cold, mocking stare on Freya. "Stop wasting your energy. No one can save you now."
"Look at the weather, Freya. A storm is brewing on the open sea, and it can be deadly. Your brother is the last of your family. You may not fear death, but what about him? He's just a child."
"Release my brother," Freya demanded. "Have someone take him to shore and hand him over to the Lloyd family."
"I need confirmation from the Lloyd family that he's safe. Then I'll tell you everything."
Michael's eyes flashed with surprise, and Freya chuckled softly. "You see, even you don't believe it. So why should I?"
Michael's eyes twitched before he let out a sudden laugh. "Killian's daughter is tougher than I expected."
"But I have ways to make you talk. I've heard that when a person goes mad, they'll reveal everything. I've been too soft on you, it seems."
"I remember meeting you when you were little, such an adorable child."
The way Michael said "adorable" made Freya feel sick. She had a sudden, ominous suspicion that Michael was truly a pervert.
"We'll start by sending your brother to join you in the afterlife. You know I'm not a good person. At worst, I'll send you to an asylum. With the advancements in modern medicine, there are plenty of ways to make you talk: electroshock therapy, hypnosis, drugs..."
Freya glared at Michael, who straightened up and glanced at Mason, who was dangling weakly by the ship's railing.
Mason, already frail and just a child, had been exposed to the elements for too long and was on the brink of death.
Michael, his face cold and stern, pointed at Mason and ordered, "Throw the brat overboard."
"Yes, sir," a burly bodyguard replied, pulling out a military knife as he approached Mason.
Grabbing the rope suspending Mason, the bodyguard prepared to cut it.
Mason, barely conscious from exhaustion and thirst, let out a weak cry of pain as the movement aggravated his injuries.
Freya's heart clenched. The bodyguard gripped the rope and was about to slice it when she shouted, "Moonbrink Road!"
Everyone stopped and looked at Michael, who nodded in satisfaction, a smile spreading across his face.
"You see, if you had been this cooperative earlier, we wouldn't have wasted so much time. Very good!"
He approached Freya with eager eyes. "Which city? Saeville or Riverville?" "There are only these two cities with a Moonbrink Road!"
Freya, her neck burning from the earlier strangulation, coughed before she could steady herself. "There are thousands of Moonbrink roads across the country."
Michael's smile faded.
Could Abigail have hidden the item in another city?
Impossible. Abigail's movements were closely monitored, and only had significant activity in,
Saeville and Riverville. It hat
one of these two cities.
He took a deep breath. "Freya, are you being dishonest?"

"Let my brother down, give him water, and some food, or he'll die," Freya demanded, her eyes unyielding.
Michael stared at her, her lips tinged with blood, but her inherent pride remained unshaken.
He scoffed and gestured for the bodyguard to pull Mason up.
Freya rushed forward, but was pinned down on the deck. Michael chuckled coldly. "Now, will you talk?"
Freya gritted her teeth. "Give him water first!"
Michael's patience wore thin as he ordered water for Mason.
Mason was too weak to lift his arms, so Freya broke free from her guards and rushed to her brother's side, lifting him and holding the water bottle to his parched lips. Mason drank greedily.
Seeing her brother's pale face, Freya felt a piercing pain in her heart.noveldrama
They had been separated for years, and now they were reunited under such dire circumstances.
Michael, losing patience, had Freya dragged away. "Ms. Gomez, now will you talk?" he demanded, leaning on his cane.
Freya trembled, leaning against the railing for support. She beckoned Michael closer.
"Alright, I'll tell you."
Michael hesitated, surprised at her compliance, and approached. Freya lifted her chin, glancing at the nearby bodyguards. “Wouldn't you prefer they don't hear your secret? I'm only repeating Abigail's words, and some things are best kept private.”
Michael's expression darkened, and he ordered the bodyguards to back off.
As they released Freya and stepped away, Michael moved closer. "Tell me, what did Abigail say to you that day?"
Freya whispered a few words, causing Michael, possibly due to his age, to lean in further.
In a sudden, desperate move, Freya lunged at Michael with all her strength,
catching him off guard. He stumbled, nearly falling overboard.
The sudden change left everyone stunned, and they rushed toward Freya.
What do you think?
