Chapter 20
Justine's expression immediately darkened when she saw who had barged in. She shouted, "Flynn, what the hell is wrong with you?"
Flynn frowned and gave Justine a warning look. "Ms. Moore is here with utmost sincerity, yet you two are refusing to meet her. How could you two be so rude?"
His gaze fell on Evelyn, illustrating his shock at seeing her there.
Evelyn was tall and slender. Her poised shoulders also made it clear that she had been educated on her etiquette since young.
Her black curls were tucked behind her ears, showcasing her slender neck and her pale skin. Even with light makeup, she was gorgeous with her sharp, distinct facial features.
Not to mention, her eyes were extremely charming, and she always exuded an air of cold elegance. She was so beautiful that she was impossible to ignore.
"Please don't tell me that she's your so-called 'important guest.' She's just a housewife who only knows how to cook and clean. Is she worth you two ignoring Ms. Moore like this?" Flynn scoffed in disbelief.
Flynn knew who Evelyn was. After all, Evelyn was Justine's best friend.
He also knew that Evelyn was married, but he didn't know who her husband was. After being amazed by her looks, he looked into her, only to find out that she was just a woman with a pretty face.
She was useless, and the complete opposite of Tiffany. Women who were as capable and outstanding as Tiffany were extremely rare.
Justine had never liked her brother as she always found him stupid. "Did a donkey kick you in the head or something? Since when did you have a say in the company's business?"
She had found out a few days ago that Flynn had feelings for Tiffany. That was why that idiot had drunk his heart out to the point where he ended up with alcohol poisoning after finding out about the rumors regarding Tiffany and Lucas.
Flynn looked at Evelyn and replied meaningfully, "I can't stand you all acting so rudely here. Ms. Moore truly admires the development of the UN2 combat drone. That's why she wants to speak with Mr. Hill.
"Is interacting with people of the same caliber as you a bad thing? Why are you two wasting your time on a housewife? Do you two not have any sense?"
"Who the hell is she? So what if she admires the development of the UN2 combat drone? I want you both to fuck off. You're polluting the air here."
"Justine Scott!"
Left with no choice and unable to stand watching Tiffany wait downstairs for so long, Flynn turned to Sebastian and asked, "Mr. Hill, why don't you go down and speak to her instead?"
Sebastian played with the pen in his hand and retorted, "I'm quite curious who has the bigger audacity between you two."
Flynn immediately understood the meaning behind Sebastian's words. He was saying that neither of them knew their place.
Enraged, he glared at Evelyn before storming off.
She did not take the situation to heart, but she suspected that the matter with Tiffany wasn't over yet.
Although Flynn had sugar-coated Justine and Sebastian's words, Tiffany still caught on to the underlying message.
She pursed her lips and recounted whether she had ever offended the Flying Seal Group before.
After returning from abroad, she met with numerous influential figures from the industry, and every one of them praised her for her talents.
So why was the Flying Seal Group acting differently?
No matter what it was, she decided to contact Lucas and explain the situation to him.
Lucas remained calm, answering, "Don't worry. I'll handle it."
Evelyn spent the whole afternoon learning about how the Flying Seal Group operated. Soon, a clear direction had begun forming in her mind.
She was extremely satisfied with the feeling of working for something that she was passionate about. For once, she was just living for herself and not for anyone else.
She didn't even remember the messy relationship she had with Lucas and Blake.
...
In the afternoon, Lucas had just closed a document and was rubbing his temples.
He looked at his watch and realized that it was almost 1:00 pm.
His stomach was empty, and he reached out to the left side of his desk out of habit. However, he found nothing.
Every day without fail, there would always be a thermos packed with food ready for him in the afternoon.
On top of the thermos, there would also be a sticky note with delicate and elegant handwriting, reminding him to eat his lunch.noveldrama
Looking up, he called out, "Michael."
Michael came in and asked, "Mr. Grant, what can I do for you?"
Lucas looked thoughtfully at the empty space on the left side of his desk and asked, "Did you throw today's lunchbox away?"
What do you think?
