The World of Beasts: She's Got Their Hearts

Chapter 57

"Oh no, where's that robot female?"noveldrama

Analise suddenly remembered she had completely forgotten about the robot female that was still in Wayne's courtyard because she had been so focused on purifying the males here.

She worried that those males might do something to her.

"Ms. Chamber, that robot female refuses to leave with the security force. She said she'd only go if she saw you first."

Before she could think further, a group of uniformed males arrived with the robot female. Their uniforms bore a spherical emblem, with symbols inside that Analise couldn't understand.

"Do you still have human consciousness?" Analise asked tentatively.

Those around them found her question rather strange. The idea of a robot female having human consciousness was impossible.

Robots operated on programmed intelligence and weren't capable of self- awareness. Every therian in the Interstellar Alliance knew this well, as nearly every household had at least a few robots.

The Vexoth's invasion not only brought Vexoth venom but also introduced advanced technology. As a result, daily tasks like cooking, laundry, and cleaning were now handled by robots, freeing the therians from these burdens.

The robot female nodded. "Yes. I am not entirely a robot."

A bitter expression crossed her face.

"My name is Clarice Hayes. I was once a pure-human female from the Bravepaw Alliance. Over six months ago, when the Vexoth suddenly attacked my city, I was captured by their therians.

"At first, I thought it was just my bad luck. After all, pure-human females have no mind essence, so most males wouldn't choose us as mates.

"Other females had some level of protection from males. In a moment of crisis, no one would spare a thought for a pure-human female. So, in the end, my capture was only to be expected," Clarice said.

"Clarice? Are you really Clarice? She didn't look like this at all."

A male from the Bravepaw Alliance spoke up from the crowd.

"I know you. You're Barrett Collins. A year ago, you tried to court Sheena Riley but failed, so you drowned your sorrows at a bar.

"But that embarrassed Sheena, so she had her mate beat you up. I was the one who bought you painkillers afterward," Clarice replied.

She turned to look at the male who had spoken.

Barrett was shocked. "It's really you?"

Everyone in the Bravepaw Alliance knew about his failed courtship, but only he and Clarice knew about the painkillers.

"It's me."

Clarice gave a bitter smile. "The Vexoths captured more than ten pure-human females. Five of us survived. Now, only four remain."

"How do you know there are only four left?"

Analise pressed for an answer immediately.

This was crucial.

Clarice didn't just have her own consciousness. She might even share a consciousness with the other robot females as well. If that were the case, locating the remaining three would be much easier.

"Our consciousness is connected."

Clarice's words confirmed Analise's suspicion.

"The ones who modified us first erased our original consciousness using a special method, then they implanted a material that connected our minds.

"They installed a self-destruct program inside us. If one of us is captured, we can activate it in a crisis to spread Vexoth venom. The others would then trigger their own self-destruct programs as well.

"And if one of us is killed before activating the program, the others will still know immediately," she said.

Clarice didn't hide anything from Analise. She could feel one of the components inside her body resisting Analise's presence, perhaps out of fear.

That was exactly why she sought Analise's help. Maybe this female could find a way to save her.
