When Her "Death" Couldn't Break Him

Chapter 1996

Chapter 1996 Her Uncles

While the two men continued waiting, they couldn't help but whisper to one another.

"Who would have thought that Cecilia would have such dumb luck?" Jonah said, "She turns out to be the only daughter of the Jamieson family. If we had known, we should have curried favor with her."

James was also repeatedly nodding in agreement. "Exactly. Let's hope it's not too late."noveldrama

He paused, a glimmer of hope reappearing in his eyes.

"You know... It would be great if my daughter could secure a job at Jamieson Group," he said.

Typically, to secure a job at Jamieson Group, one had to clear the hurdle of educational qualifications, which meant having a degree from a prestigious university.

James had a daughter who only attended a vocational college, and that, too, was paid for.

Jonah also nodded in agreement. "Indeed. If we could get our children to work here, it would be a golden opportunity. It's all that old woman's fault. Why did she have to offend Cecilia? How foolish."

The two of them spoke back and forth, their conversation increasingly filled with hopeful anticipation of the future.

Yuliana had just returned from finalizing a business deal and was about to share the good news with Cecilia when the two men suddenly noticed her.

"She's Cecilia's cousin, right?" Jonah stood up.

The reason he knew Yuliana was that Cassandra had brought her along once when she had visited the Escobar family previously.

James also noticed her. "I think so."

The two of them exchanged glances, each understanding the thoughts harbored in the other's mind.

"Let's go and talk to her."

"All right."

Just as Yuliana was about to step into the elevator, she felt a pair of gazes fixed

on her. Turning around, she saw two middle-aged men approaching her with warm smiles.

"Ms. Jamieson," Jonah called out.

Yuliana's face was filled with surprise. "Who are you?"

"You don't remember me, do you? You used to come over to our house with Cassandra," Jonah responded.

James nodded. "Yeah. It seems like you had just graduated back then."

Upon hearing their words, Yuliana slowly recalled. "Are you from the Escobar family?"

"Yes, indeed." Both of them nodded in agreement.

Yuliana's confusion deepened. "Did you come here looking for Cassandra?"

Had it been in the past, Yuliana

would have certainly welcomed the two with open arms. However, she had come to understand that

Cassandra was no good, and naturally, her disposition toward Cassandra's relatives was far from friendly.

"No, no. We're all aware of what she did. She had truly crossed the line Our visit this time is to see Cer As

her uncles, we came especially to check on her."

Jonah had quite the gift of gab. He started off by talking badly about Cassandra, who was disliked by Yuliana. Then, he claimed that he was Cecilia's uncle.

Yuliana was incredulous. "You're my cousin's uncle?"

"Exactly," said Jonah. "Even though she isn't our sister's biological child, she grew up with our sister. We've watched her grow since she was little. We treat her like one of us.”

Yuliana nodded thoughtfully.

"Why don't you guys go up?"

"We're just about to head up," Jonah quickly picked up the items they had brought and dragged James. "Ms. Jamieson, could you please show us the way?"

Considering they were Cecilia's uncles, Yuliana felt it would be inappropriate to refuse them. She nodded in agreement, saying, "All right. Follow me upstairs."

The receptionist had initially wanted to stop them, but it was too late. All she could do was watch helplessly as they stepped onto the elevator.

The entire time, Yuliana was rather pleased. Not only did she successfully negotiate a business deal this time, but she also managed to help Cecilia's uncles.
