Blimey, My Kid's the Heir to the Billionaire Boss!

Chapter 1499 It's Him, It's Really Him

Sadie sprinted down the hallway, her heart pounding faster with each step as she neared the hospital room.

Finally, she reached the door and burst inside. Her eyes immediately fell on the frail, unconscious man lying in the bed.

Her heart skipped a beat.

It was him. It really was him!

He was alive!

Sadie rushed to his side and hugged him tightly. "I thought I'd never see you again."

The man in the bed, perhaps feeling her tight embrace or sensing her presence, slowly opened his eyes.

"Micah!" Sadie cupped his face, her voice trembling with excitement. "You're alive. This is incredible."

The man looked at Sadie, his eyes momentarily confused, but then they softened.

He slowly lifted his hand and hugged Sadie back with all the strength he could muster. "It's okay now," Sadie said, kissing his forehead, her sorrow turning to joy. "Let's get you home!"

She turned to instruct Annika to start the transfer paperwork.

Just then, a group of police officers entered the room. One of them addressed Sadie sternly, "Ms. James, we need you to come with us to the station to assist with an investigation."

"What are you talking about?" Annika stepped forward, demanding an explanation.

"We received an anonymous tip accusing you of arson and attempted murder of Mr. Clemens," the officer explained. "The evidence links you to the fire at Half Mountain Villa. We need you to come with us for questioning."

"That's ridiculous!" Arya shouted. "Mr. Clemens is Ms. James' husband. Why would she harm him? This makes no sense!"

"Exactly," Annika added angrily. "That anonymous tip is clearly a setup."

"Whether it's a setup or not, we need to investigate," the officer replied firmly. "This is just questioning, not an arrest. If you resist, it will look suspicious."

"What did you say?" Arya snapped. "What's your badge number? I'm filing a complaint."

"I'm just stating the facts."

"You-"

"Arya!" Sadie interrupted sharply.

Arya fell silent, stepping back but glaring at the officer with fury.

"Officer, as a law-abiding citizen, I will cooperate with the investigation," Sadie said politely. "But I need to take my husband home first. Can we go to the station later?"noveldrama

"No, you need to come with us now," the officer refused decisively. "Until we know more, we can't be sure Mr. Clemens is safe with you."

"You" Sadie began to protest, but a cold voice interrupted, "This is a hospital. Please don't disturb the patients."

Sadie looked up to see Olivia arriving with her entourage. "Sadie, I think you should go cooperate with the investigation. Don't cause a scene here."

As she spoke, Olivia noticed Micah in the bed and froze. Then she cried out excitedly, "Mr. Clemens, it's really you!"

Ignoring everyone else, she rushed over to hug Micah.

Arya was about to lash out, but Micah weakly raised his hand and gently pushed Olivia away.

He turned to the police and said, "Officer, I think there's been a mistake. Sadie is my wife. She would never harm me."

Sadie looked at Micah, overwhelmed with emotion.

That voice, that way of speaking-it was unmistakably Micah.

And he was defending her.

He really was her husband, Micah. There was no doubt about it!
