Chapter 1770
"I'm going to tell Zoe right now that you've been using the golden invitations without permission."
Amy just shrugged, unfazed, and replied with a laid-back, “Go ahead."
Her nonchalant attitude made it clear she wasn't worried about the Larkin family digging into it. Jane, not being naive, approached Fiona, initially ready to grab the invitation from her hand. But, rethinking her strategy, she opted for politeness, “Mind if I take a look at your invitation?"
Fiona, by now, had caught on to Amy's game. She handed the invitation to Jane without a second thought.
With shaky hands, Jane accepted the invitation, her mind racing with anxiety. If her suspicions were right, what would that mean?
She took a deep breath and opened the invitation. It was addressed to Fiona, the sole heir of the Stonnell family.
Jane stumbled back, eyes wide in disbelief. So, Fiona was indeed from the Stonnell family.
All those things she had done and said to Fiona-could they backfire on her now?
But how could this be? Fiona was known to be from the Capital. Jane had even done some digging. Everything pointed to Fiona growing up in Cedarvale and just attending college in the Capital. Nothing else ever turned up.
Why?

Suddenly, she locked eyes with Fiona, her words deliberate and sharp, "You knew I was looking into you all along, didn't you? You erased your tracks on purpose, just to throw me off. You were targeting me!"
Fiona rolled her eyes, not even bothering to reply.
Anyone who tried to snoop into her life hit the same brick wall, not just Jane.
Over the years, all anyone ever found was her connection to Cedarvale and her obvious college life. Even Amy who recently attempted to dig deeper, turned up empty-handed.
After a long pause, Jane finally picked herself up and handed the invitation back to Fiona, showing a rare sincerity.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong. I acted petty,
and I owe you an apology." Jane stood before Fiona, bowing deeply didn't know you were from the Stonnell family. I targeted you unfairly. I promise it won't happen again. Please don't hold my actions against the Kidd family. They're innocent. If you want to hold
someone accountable, it should be
me. I won't complain."
Fiona took the invitation and casually tossed it under her pillow, not even giving Jane a second glance. She had no plans to waste time on this.
Jane couldn't read Fiona's mind, her face paling with uncertainty. "What will it take for you to forgive me?”
“Bullies don't get forgiveness," Fiona replied, turning over and settling back into her nap.
She had no intention of forgiving Jane for her excessive actions. Even if most of it was due to Josie's manipulation, Jane had still gained by going along with it. Fiona wasn't going to let it slide.
As for the Kidd family, as long as they didn't cross any lines, she wasn't going to bother them.
She could clearly distinguish between the Kidd family and Jane.
Amy, though, was a delightful twist. Fiona's lips curled into a smile. Things were getting interesting. Clearly, the States had far more drama than the Capital.
What do you think?
