No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Noelle asked mischievously, "How would I be inconveniencing them?"

"I think you know. I don't have to tell you about this. The Liddells are nothing in comparison to the Merlocks. Samantha's sister is engaged to one of the wealthiest men in the city! Did you think that the Liddells can afford to get into the Merlocks' bad books?"noveldrama

Oh, they had a powerful family backing them up!

Noelle chuckled and answered, "I don't believe it. I dare you to let it rip!"

Noelle hung up. The fate of the Liddells had nothing to do with her.

She glanced at the invitation in her phone before leaving the dorms. When she arrived at the team building, there was a red carpet outside as well as a registration counter. It looked like a big deal.

"Noelle, how did you get hurt?"

She turned around to see an old friend of hers. It was Michael, the manager of Team Celestial.

She smiled and answered, "I got into a little accident."

"I heard that you didn't pass the test for Team Yasnia. That seems off."

Michael's eyes lit up. "That's great. You can consider joining Team Celestial. We won't stop you if you decide to join the national team."

"I'll consider it."

Noelle hadn't made up her mind.

"I see a friend over there. I'll head over to say hi and come back to convince you to join us."

Michael left, wine glass in hand.

Noelle walked into the hall. She heard Grace say, "Noelle, you must be shameless for daring to show up here!"

She stopped walking and shot back, "If you can be here, why can't I?"

"Of course I can be here. You can't, though. The event today has invited many famous livestreamers. To preserve the integrity of the event, no one who isn't from the team can be admitted."

Samuel chimed in, "Noelle, if you knew the consequences of your actions, you shouldn't have done them in the first place. If you regret it, grovel before me and apologize right now!

"Since we're on this topic, you haven't grovelled before me after losing to me!"

Samuel looked away awkwardly. Grace said immediately, "Get lost, Noelle. Who knows how you snuck in?"

Noelle snorted and replied, "I walked in. No sneaking around was involved."

She raised her voice and mocked, "You don't even have an invitation. How else would you get in if you hadn't snuck in?"

"Who says I don't have an invitation?"

Grace cackled.

"Samuel, she's shamelessly claiming that she has an invitation. I've never seen someone as shameless as she is."

Samuel was all high-and-mighty as he said, "Noelle, I heard that you didn't come from a wealthy family. You probably don't even know what an invitation looks like!"

"Exactly. Security, get this shameless woman out of here!"

As Grace glared at Noelle, she felt like she'd finally taken her revenge. Noelle had humiliated her thoroughly by saying that her bag was fake. She'd pay her back!

Noelle glanced at the guards and pulled out her phone. "This is my invitation."

They glanced at it and said reverently, "We apologize for disturbing your night. Do proceed!"
